Title page of Lord's Supper book about the Eucharist from 1674 with the signature of early owner Anne Hurst at the top.
Angela with the Communion chalice and bread, "Mary Surly her Book" written at the top!
Female Trouble?
At least two women, Mary Surly and Anne Hurst, owned this 1674 book about the Sacrament of Communion. It only took 300 years for female priests to consecrate it themselves!

Genre painting by Michaelina Wautier (Dutch title: Elk zijn meug), The Phoebus Foundation. An oil painting depicting two children against a dark, neutral background. The foreground figure is a fair-skinned child with loose, curly auburn hair, wearing a voluminous white draped garment. The child holds a partially eaten boiled egg with a small spoon in one hand, and turns their head slightly to the left with a wide-eyed, slightly queasy or reluctant expression. Behind and to the right stands a second child with darker, dishevelled hair and a dark jacket with a white collar, leaning in and looking down attentively at the first child. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michaelina_Wautier#/media/File:Elk_zijn_meug.jpg

A page from a scrapbook in which is inserted a picture of a young woman's face (in detail) and shoulders (much sketchier than the face). There are fronds from a real plant taped around the drawing - now dried from age. Handwritten in black on the scrapbook is the legend "The Belle of Bello Sguardo etched on copper by Miss Alexander." Under the legend in the left corner the same hand wrote "Florence / Nov. 13th 1858." Across from it, in the lower right corner, is written "given me by Miss Alexander / Nov 11th 1858."
