Love this playlist. Do you have it for Spotify? πŸ™Œ

But please do accept my apologies. The Beatles are a thing of joy and it’s a shame when we can’t agree to disagree agreeably.
Peace & Love

Apologies Steven I really don’t mean to be insulting in any way. *lifts glasses & says β€˜It’s only me’ πŸ˜† From previous comments I took it that you decided not to listen. From what you have said you really are dismissing all their points on bias then? Across all 10 episodes? That’s remarkable….

If you take on the challenge I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts. Perhaps it won’t change your views one bit, which is OC completely your prerogative, but I’d be surprised.
Safe journey home

The trouble is that deciding to ignore their work just means that you simply don’t have the full picture. Debating Tune In’s merits without listening to their rationale and views just diminishes credibility. Please open your mind and listen without prejudice podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/a...

Btw I’m still grieving EggPod but am hugely grateful for the body of work you created. I’ll never forget the daily Get Back series. A bonkers undertaking at a dark time. Done with gentleness and love. Thank you

It’s a shame you didn’t enjoy it / get through it. It’s in my top 3 and I found so much to enjoy (despite some clear faults). I’m not aware of his motivations beyond what I’ve heard him say in an interview with Geoff Lloyd. He seemed thoughtful & genuine and was open about what the book was & wasn’t

Chris what did you make of the Ian Leslie book?

Do test their own hypotheses and clearly call out where they are giving opinion over facts.
Anyhoo, the sun is shining and we are alive and well today so I’ll stop banging on.
I really appreciate the work you and Jason do.
Peace, love and digestive biscuits

Written work, it really does have substantial, and quite clear biases. I challenge anyone to really listen to the AKOM series on Tune In and not accept this (to a greater or lesser extent). The depth & integrity of the analysis is remarkable. They do cross the line occasionally but on the whole

25.08.2025 08:56 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Thanks Steven. I do appreciate your genuine responses and agree on some points. The issue with Tune In is that it presents itself as definitive and unbiased (β€˜written with an even hand’). Like most fans I trusted it and wanted that to be true. Whilst factually it remains a remarkable and wonderfuly

25.08.2025 08:50 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I’m hopeful that us fans don’t have to’ take sides’ in this, as is our nature. I just hope that everyone is open to new analysis and opinions, beyond the fixed canon. And yes, I do mean the AKON series, particularly the one on Tune In. It’s really is a brilliant and deeply considered piece of work

24.08.2025 09:25 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I think the reaction of some fans to these new ideas says a lot about the desire to stick to the tradition tropes of masculinity, power & sexuality. John & Paul are viewed in such reductive ways. They are clearly both incredible, odd, flawed, loving people. As are we all
Just my opinion

The relationship between John and Paul is so important and understanding our beautiful band. And we really need to start looking at it in the complex and nuanced way that does it justice. As much as I love Tune In, it really is deeply flawed in its biases which sit in plain sight

24.08.2025 08:50 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

I won’t disagree with the Stuart or Blackpool examples (and a few more tbf) but I’d posit the large majority of the book is sensitive & considered and accurate. John clearly loved Paul deeply (as did Paul) and never stopped obsessing about him. Many fans clearly find this threatening which is sad

Fairs. I’m team Japage3. As a book rooted in emotional intelligence (not claiming to have every fact verified) what did you find disappointing? Genuinely interested to hear other views

23.08.2025 17:48 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It’s hilarious how threatened you all are by book. Don’t worry boys. John WAS the leader, he was definitely straight, he outgrew Paul artistically and was never in love with him. Trouble is, all the evidence say otherwise. Click your heals 3 times and read Tune in again πŸ˜‚

Dear Nemo, you are completely missing the point in a strangely pedantic way. Leslie’s books is insightful and highly emotionally literate. The minor details really don’t matter. Like the AKOM podcast it’s time for the truth about the John & Paul story. And you can’t stop it. Peace & Love πŸ’™

And I love your sarcasm - it’s integral to what makes NIR such a delight πŸ™Œ
Btw - how do you mean that the accusation of a pro-John bias is ironic? In what way?

24.04.2025 17:39 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Ok. No worries. I do think that there needs to be room for other perspectives on such an important story tho, esp one so deeply researched and explained. I love Tune In & am sure it can stand up to some quality critical challenge. Pls do listen if you can. Thanks again for all your amazing work πŸ™Œ

I’d love to hear your & Jason’s views on the AKOM pod esp the Tune In series. Have you listened yet? It blew my (tiny) mind.
Thanks for all the amazing NIR pods & all the Beatley joy you have released πŸ™Œ

Perhaps Tune In could top the worst & best? Fabulous in so many ways but deeply flawed in its misplaced pro-John mythology and lack of emotional intelligence. Don’t @ me. Just listen to the remarkable podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/a...
