Quite a project. Took me a long time to make. But it’s held up well. The design was called Log Cabin, I think. Not perfect but warm & cozy, especially during the pandemic.🧶

Blow-up of a large wind-blown sunflower, with Rodin’s sculpture ‘The Burghers of Calais’ (1869) placed in the dark-brown center of the flower along with the young Asian woman on her cell phone just below the good citizens of Calais, who, in 1347, offered themselves as hostages to the King of England to end his siege of their city—but she is oblivious to all that, perched on the yellow sunflower petals in her chic black jacket and fitted pants. The sunflower is a tribute to Ukraine, besieged by Russia since 2014; the sculpture commemorates the Hundred Years' War between the English and the French. Morning, Susan! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving🦃 Speaking of food, I’d say The Vegetarian made me squeamish. While I felt sorry for her, the way the story was told (3 perspectives) had a distancing effect… To me, the most interesting thing about the book was the glimpse into modern Korean society.

Not yet. I read Spring awhile ago. I found it exquisite yet maddening. Exquisite because of the writing. Maddening because of its inconclusiveness. James & Katherine drift around like "half-abstract beings" in spring, vaguely uneasy about how things stand, neither willing to do much about it. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️
