After you read how the communist party took advantage of the weak China after WW2 and started slaughtering innocent people and destroying cultural locations and books. Then having many years of extreme poverty for many because they completely screwed up thousands of years of development.

Exactly. My friend in Shenzen has such a low budget for her month to pay bills and provide food while she studies. She would avoid going to see a doctor just because it cuts into that fund and she cannot afford it even with the subsidised cost. Basic GP visits should be free globally.

Extreme poverty is an extreme example. Less than 1% of people would be under this category and it is even below what Beggers would make. There is a fair bit of poverty, just not extreme poverty. The same with China but less drugs zombies and more hard-working people being left behind.

The US rail system is lacking. For highways. As an example, China would build inner city level highways (Sydney M4) made for high capacity in outer city areas that do not need it. a highway like (NSW H1) is perfectly suited for the capacity and cost way less. Then they add more around that.

Taking what I said completely out of context. These things are good, but in excess it is a waste of money. You do not need multiple highways running to the same locations when they are not even busy in the first place. China uses these on paid promotions as well. Waste money to show wasting money.

Being used and being useful are completely different. Driving down a highway that has very little amount of cars is not worth the land and the millions it cost to develop. That money is better spent on the people and the healthcare system that is still lacking and has subsidised fees still.

The US has a lot more problems than that. The issue is that these things are not done when it's needed, it's in excess as a way to show how developed China is. All these things are good when it is needed. Highways don't need to be full of traffic. But if it sees very little traffic it is a waste.

You are right, the spending is heavily put into things that are not needed. Too many highways, bullet trains and bridges.They will do these massive projects just to make china look good, instead of helping the people more.Not to mention all the apartments they use to scam the Chinese as investments.

There are still many extremely poor people in China. So saying eliminating extreme poverty means they eliminated less than what a normal begged will receive in developed nations. There are a lot of hard working Chinese who work in fields and get barely anything, they rely on their grown food to eat.
