Out of all the critiques one can lob at the nazis, "discomforting to those who subscribe to it" is unfortunately not one of them.

The audience for this media exists because they need something that lets them ignore the reality they live in, and it's easy to buy big lies if you accept little ones.

I'm not against wholesome media, but to rid storytelling of the grittiness of conflict is akin to taking dry ingredients out of cake. Yes, you got your sweetness, but it's also going to satisfy you for like 5 minutes.

As someone who grime and dirt sticks to like a ball of claydough, I've always been frustrated with the "cozy" genre because of how little it seemed to comfort the people who consumed that media. It was escapist, of the worst kind- one that didn't offer a mirror of your potential.

You should probably take a peek at Hi, Strangeness. I'm not 100% certain on it yet, but it's doing some interesting things with an implied medium aware entity warping the nature of the comic itself.

I think the biggest mistake any long form comic has is not steadily having new onboarding points marked for people. Every One Piece arc is more or less palettable on its own terms for a reason.

That's been a pretty big theme in most interpretations since the Hammer days.

Aren't we talking about a living being, though? it's quite literally objectifying to be referred to as "a Frankenstein" unless they self identify as a member of their family. He has an identity, after all.
