Beautiful design as always when Dayanita Singh and Steidl collaborate. The endpapers are a print of well worn paper with markings and smudges. I look at this one often.

Carol Jerrems captured Melbourne and Sydney of the 1970s, understanding photography as a collaboration Carol Jerrems worked primarily with black and white photography until her early death in 1980. Over 140 of her photographs are currently on display at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra.

Worth a visit to this one. Here's a review I wrote for @aunz.theconversation.com on Carol Jerrems Portraits (and imperfections, cuts, shadows) at National Portrait Gallery Canberra. So excellent to see so many small scale prints on the wall.

It flips between restraint (photos taken on a specific date within a 2 hour period) and excess (so many photographs, so much industrial clutter in each image).

I bought this one from Osiris, an excellent publisher of photobooks in Japan.

I regularly look at this one, 'Port Area' by Komatsu Hiroko (2010). She photographs materials in cycles of demolition/destruction. This one is a favourite because of its materials and hand made methods: cardboard, staples, hand-stamping, plastic wrapped contact sheet print on the cover. #photobook

Smallest book in my collection! A transcript of Robert Frank's hour-long single take film of Frank and an actor wandering around the lower east side of Manhattan. Curious wonderful little book. This one was published in 1992 by Hanuman Books. Steidl did a reprint in 2007.
