Hey everybody, I live in Canada’s boreal forest region. I post images here of my explorations on the lakes and in the forest. I post current pictures and stuff from the archives. Fan of philosophy. No politics here. Proud Canadian. Gerry
Thanks!

09.03.2026 22:54 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yes, Canada is a huge country and many beautiful landscapes. The northern lights are an on and off thing so you have to kind of get lucky. I live here so I’m here all the time and when they occur, I go look for them.
09.03.2026 22:48 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Well, just consider the size of Canada, so a certain regions like the Yukon and the territories see them all the time at the same intensity as they would in the Scandinavian countries. This image was taken at 50° latitude north of the equator in Kenora where I live in Ontario.

This cat has the most patience of any cat I have ever had. He actually initiates this kind of play with Jasmine.

05.03.2026 18:53 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yes, when you see the red, it’s a really strong solar storm. That’s probably why you were able to see it so far south.

Good morning!

I usually just throw them in the garbage. Some people take them out to an island because of bears, but bears can swim out to Ireland’s. The responsible thing is to just throw them out in the garbage. I have never heard of anyone throwing them directly into the lake.

Wildlife is abundant in the part of Canada I live in. Bald eagles are extremely common here and unless you’ve seen one up close, you won’t believe how big these birds are. I often feed them a small fish and some birds even follow you around the lake hoping you’ll throw them a prize

A good showing of the northern lights in Canada.
These northern lights pics appear to be a hit!
Thanks for all the likes on the previous posts everybody. Here’s one from last November.

Yes, I have some really good reflection pictures from northern lights. I have taken over the years. I’ll look in the archives and post a few.

Poor Henry. Jasmine has him pinned down. Funny how he takes this from her and never scratches her or anything. Good friends.

26.02.2026 03:47 — 👍 0 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Yes, must’ve been immense, solar flares on the sun to cause that strong a storm!
26.02.2026 03:46 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Those reds are amazing. That means the Aurora was extremely powerful at a very high altitude above the Earth. I saw reds here as well but they were in November.
