i recommend starting really simple, with cubes and cuboids and slowly working your way up from there. building other people's models is always a great way to learn new tricks. if you can grab a copy of Urban Paper, it's a great book for this

ahhh it came out great!

I am so pleased lol

they're designed to work on anything 120gsm and up! personally i've switched to 300gsm card more recently because i do a lot of double sided printing for client projects but anything between those two should work fine :)

i'd also suggest printing on matte card and avoiding gloss

makes sense to me. i kind of miss when you didn't need to have an online persona and edit videos and learn social marketing and grow a following and engage with community etc etc tec

i feel that. it feels like now you have to be a personality, your art can't speak for itself in a sea of loud voices and so you have to speak for it and then it becomes more about how likable you are rather than the art you make.

i always kind of resent having to do so much on social media

i was talking about you to some papercraft friends earlier today, talking about what projects we've seen and new faces etc. your work is really great and i'm always excited to see what you've cooked up!

there used to be a papertoy message board called 'Nice Paper Toys' and it was incredible, the inherent structure of a forum like that meant there were so many collaborations going on and friends to make without ever feeling like you were competing for attention/likes/commissions.

perhaps i'm showing my age here a little but i think short form video content feeds is so bad for you that one day we're going to see it regulated in a way similar to smoking

i avoid iit as much as possible and still find myself getting sucked in occasionally.

this month's Fold Up Club release : Crucifixion

it's not a depiction of jesus, but this toy has made me want to tackle that subject matter at some point in the future :)
