Downyflake demo set for Thursday, restaurant won't return as part of new project (Feb. 24, 2025) The demolition of a string of properties on Sparks Avenue that will become developer Chris Fiumara’s “new downtown,” began Monday.

The former Downyflake restaurant is set to be torn down today to make room for developer Chris Fiumara's "new downtown" development. The iconic island breakfast spot will not return as part of the new project.
