I dunno, have some ducks I guess
(And an incredibly majestic goose that looks incredibly aerodynamic oh yes)

Ah tech recruiters..

I'll admit, the email I got last Friday was somewhat interesting, was going to follow up.

The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th through the week: yeah be patient thanks.
The direct email repeating the messages: Okay nah, don't fancy working for you now 🙂

See if we ignore that most of the parts are version 3, it all 'just fits' and neatly clips together.
It's even not insanely hard to route the ribbon cable and fit together 🙂

Needs wiring up, and I can't be having those header pins like that

But dare I say *like a glove* 😎

Not for simple capture / streaming, but I'll be maxing it out and it'll be inside a closed case, I guess we'll see :)

(sadly the fan can't go at the back without some more creativity, that's where the charge port is, right on the edge of the pcb..)

I need to stop procrastinating and work on the software, but for the physical bits it's a nice change

No idea if I can power the fan from the pi's gpio, might just hardwire that

And in theory, this whole pod just slides into a case on some rails (which of course I haven't designed yet :)

I guess I'm slowly getting the hang of designing and printing things 🙂

This is only the third test print, and other than being a slow process ita coming out as a fairly solid setup

Can't believe I'm saying it, but the plagiarism slop chat (copilot) actually did help fix mapping the pi's camera through to a podman container.

Probably either my brain is tired after the 9h in office today, or search engines are so bad you need a matching slop machine to extract the info 🙃

Yeah so it kinda worked. Needed to trim a few parts and cut straight through the cameras ribbon cable in the process.

But I have a box, and it contains everything needed to write camera software

Why yes, the way the pi bracket perfectly holds the camera cable in was definitely a conscious design choice and not at all a happy accident 🙂😎

It's like when you first learn to code you write a whole bunch of spaghetti and huge functions.

Except when you code up a bug it means your screw holes don't align, or you can't print the object without supports, or have to get out the drill for a bugfix 😅

As always I'm enjoying the trial and error, but even falling back on a code-based CAD this is difficult 🙃

In this case, I had to duplicate a whole load of constants because if I change the original one everything kinda just...explodes.

Had an idea and went down the rabbit hole 🙂

So far I've got a few podman containers running and doing....not much

But theres plenty of the (512MB) memory left, and maybe enough for something useful???

Babby ramps, tricky on longboi skates 😎

Haha so after a few hours with 2Kg strapped to each leg I went ice skating..

And the hockey skates felt like nothing - Unstable at first but complete featherweights :)

The machined aluminium is just slightly heavier than lightweight hockey skates 😅

Soooo, haven't been on wheels in a while, brand new skates, with big heavy 5 wheel frames to boot...

I'm liking them - Strange and difficult, but they're real nice >:D
