Inside the Westgate shopping centre, many people are watching a dance competition.
Clearly not all these people inside?

A smooth and easy journey on the electric bus. No traffic problems, thanks to the Congestion Charge.
This is a huge development, worth hundreds of millions of pounds. West Oxon District Council should be insisting that planning conditions include traffic-free cycle routes to the town centre, e.g. along Tower Hill and Corn Street.

Malik Claim 3: LTNs caused "chronic congestion, pollution, and acute road danger" along major routes.
Fact 3: This congestion and danger has been there for over a decade. The LTNs and more recently Congestion Charge have reduced it.
Take this example from 2016: www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/1463967...
A bubble chart showing what vehicles kill or seriously injure people on the roads. 'Cars' which includes Taxis are clearly the biggest type of vehicle involved by a large multiple.
Malik Claim 2: Majority of casualties are caused by heavy vehicles like lorries and buses.
Fact 2: Most road casualties in Oxford are caused by cars. Our 'What injures who' analysis shows this year after year.
Taxi Driver & Councillor Saj Malik made three misleading claims in his segment:
1: the picture would be different if we looked at surrounding main roads.
Fact 1: We did look at surrounding main roads. As we stated in the interview and online, 6 of 11 annual casualty reduction is on 'Boundary roads'
Robin Tucker of @cohsat.bsky.social was interviewed by @bbcoxford.bsky.social on this morning's breakfast show, about our analysis showing how Cowley LTNs have reduced road casualties by 33 in 3 years.

At the same time, retail businesses have benefitted, with Cowley Road and Magdalen Road seeing more businesses open - in stark contrast to national trends.
cohsat.org.uk/cowley-road-...
Casualties were reduced in all 3 LTNs:
* Florence Park
* Church Cowley
* Temple Cowley
* And on the Boundary Roads
Coming soon: analysis of East Oxford LTNs shows similar benefits, 12 casualties saved per year, mostly on boundary roads.
Cowley #Oxford Low Traffic Neighbourhoods have saved 33 people from being injured in 3 years. Savings are both in the LTNs and on boundary roads.
We talked about this on @BBCOxford this morning.
