ICE agents scatter as SD Bishop Pham, other clergy visit immigration court
"Our presence made a difference," one priest said, quoting an immigration lawyer saying their client was given more time to prepare for another hearing.
Michael Pham fled Vietnam at the age of 13. He was named bishop of San Diego a month ago.
Today, he stood watch at a courthouse: ICE agents were “standing there covered with masks as we walked toward the courtroom. Eventually the agents scattered and went away”

The Resistance needs a feature to “trace your life impacts through the reckless DOGE actions” where users can navigate how ending cancer research, farm subsidies, funding for low income schools, will effect them. We need to flip the script and control the narrative.

One thing that I'm increasingly coming to believe is that stories are going to be central to what comes next. Stories of the harm done. Stories of the great things achieved by government in the past. Stories of valor kindness and quotidian simple resistance.

White People: “DEI! DEI! I hate it so much”
Also White People: “Why weren’t there white ppl on the stage with Kendrick. It was only blacks.”
So if I’m hearing you correctly you’re complaining about a lack of DIVERSITY. And you would’ve liked for ppl who look like you to be EQUALLY INCLUDED…

Random comment I just saw on a video about white people bitching about Kendrick's performance having no white people: "None of the dancers were white because we’ve done away with DEI and all the open positions were filled by the most qualified people"

The NYT music critic being so incapable of comprehending the historical and racial meaning of Kendrick’s halftime show that he paned it should be saved as teaching material on unconscious racial bias.

Do I have this right? Palestinians can’t return to Gaza bc it will take years to rebuild but Trump thinks he can negotiate a deal with Egypt and Jordan to secure land and build a city and housing for 2 million people from scratch more quickly? Mar-a-Largo took 3 years and that’s only 17 acres. 🤯

No more meals on wheels for your orderly neighbor or grandpa. No more extra funding to support struggling low income students. No more Headstart so some kids will get to kindergarten knowing their letters and others won’t. Even if people don’t feel the impact immediately or directly, we need to /3

We need to translate this flood of orders and gutting of federal workers into concrete examples of their impact. I.E. Longer wait times at VA. No breakfast or lunch at school which will affect ability of kids to learn and teacher to teach. (As if teachers’ lives aren’t already hard enough.) 2/

Democrats spotlight the impact of Trump’s funding pause.
Can someone invent an app where people can plug in their circumstances to understand if or how these cuts will affect them, kinda like those selection tools to pick the right mattress or bra? Are you a veteran? Does your child or their classmate get free lunch? 1/ www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...

Fellow NSA - National Security Agency veterans. Look at what’s happened at the National Cryptologic Museum. They covered up with brown paper the photos of Women in American Cryptology. All in response to President Trump’s anti-diversity executive order.

How I Stopped Drinking and Rediscovered Myself
Bliss Broyard had her first drink at age 11 and her last in 2017. Now she reveals the "life circumstances" that led to her becoming a "sober Sally."
It's my 7 year soberversary. Every year I share my story of quitting. I don't go to AA. I used to go to Al-Anon, often held at the same time as AA meetings in a different room in a church basement, and there'd be peels of laughter coming from the AA room while we Al-Anoners would be bitterly /1
