if the media had any integrity β€” and it doesn’t anymore β€” they’d be pointing out on a loop that Obama made a deal with Iran, Trump cancelled it because Obama is Black, and then Trump started a war on the pretense there is no deal

Just heard the shamwow guy is running for Congress and (in trying to figure out why that was happening) learned that he tried to be a Scientologist and got kicked out

How batshit does one need to be to be kicked from SCIENTOLOGY?

The idea that private funding is less suseptible to "groupthink" is absolutely fucking laugable

Sometimes the person that helps you when you ask for help needed to help someone more than you needed the help from someone. This is about running. This is not about running.

This is why we need to teach about instrument precision in non-major science classes because there's absolutely no fucking way.

Genuinely might pull this up for my Astronomy 1 lab on monday

#paperday! RR Lyrae stars are a common, dependable Population II distance indicator, and provide an independent tracer of early star formation. We test the feasability of RR Lyrae research with archival JWST data using nearby dwarf galaxy WLM! πŸ”

Godzilla Minus One might be my favorite movie with no modifier needed

I also LOVED No Other Choice and am still irate that it got snubbed so hard by the Oscars

I ask my students to imagine sending a robot that looks like them to gym class to do their pushups or laps or whatever. They understand practice in the context of physical work, and somehow the analogy to mental work makes it click.

(This also explains why it's not OK to resubmit old assignments!)

That's why they call it jeans instability, when the jeans are unstable you make a joort cloud (and some other stuff but that's less important)

I don't necessarily disagree, but I'll add that writing tests requires knowlege of how to code in the first place, there's no workaround where it should be acceptable to simply skip learning how to write code (and GOOD code, for that matter)
