I want to give a HUGE #thankyou to my 10 followers. It may not seem like much to most people, but that's 10 people I've never met that like what I'm doing enough to take the time to read my #writing about my silly little #worldbuilding project.

I'm terrible at posting regularly, and I'm sorry to those of you who may look forward to my content. I want to get better at it, so instead of waiting until I've finished #writing large chunks of #lore, I'll start uploading the random snippets I jot down that help breathe life into #Agrayla.

(3/5) There was at once a great ripple, like as a stone dropped into unmoving waters, and the stillness was destroyed. From the midst of the ripple there came a kindled light, pale and flickering as a newborn star, yet ever it grew larger and brighter.

(2/5) Before aught else, there was Ådleg, the Void, which was vast beyond all measure. No light shone in its darkness, nor sound disturbed its silence, for it was empty. Such was the depth of that darkness that none other should match its likeness until the end of days and the unmaking of the world.

I've been really trying to nail down the creation #mythology for #Agrayla lately. I'm making great progress, and I hope to start sharing some actual lore very soon.

Hell yeah. I was drawing really young and got really into Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings at right around age 10, too.

#Agrayla has changed a lot over the years. My vision for it has gotten clearer. My #worldbuilding skills have gotten better. And now, I'm ready to pour into it all of the love, care, and attention that it deserves and I can't wait to share it with you all!

I found #CriticalRole. I found #Dimension20. I soaked up everything I could from @matthewmercer.bsky.social and @brennanleemulligan.bsky.social.

After that, the seed of #Agrayla (my own world) was planted, and it's grown into the home of a #dnd campaign that I've been running for almost two years.

I jumped right into the deep end and took up the mantle of #dungeonmaster. I have many memories of how bad my first few games were and how feeble my #worldbuilding attempts felt. But, as we all should with the things that stoke the inner flames of our passions, I persevered.

The movies kickstarted my #LordoftheRings obsession, but it wasn't until I read the books that I really learned what #worldbuilding could be.

Then, around college, I was introduced to #ASongofIceandFire, the #GameofThrones books by George R.R. Martin.

Then came #DungeonsandDragons.

How did you get into #worldbuilding?

For me, it was reading the #Redwall books by Brian Jacques and seeing #TheFellowshipoftheRing in theaters. Admittedly, the first time I saw it, I wasn't that into it until I saw #Rivendell. That was an eye-opening moment for me.
