The question for me, from the start of this whole mess, wasn't “censorship vs. protection,” it was how we talk about harm, accountability, and community standards without collapsing everything into extremes.

There’s space to recognize survivor experiences, oppose real exploitation, and still debate where cultural lines should be drawn without assuming bad faith on either side...

I really don’t think discussing the potential harm or discomfort automatically equals fascism or support for trafficking or anything else the like. That framing of the dicussion shuts down nuance just as much as blanket censorship does...

People can believe something is legal and still feel it’s morally wrong, especially when it involves sexualized depictions of minors. Fictional or not...

Where I feel like I'm pushing back is the leap from 'fictional/taboo material isn’t illegal' to the idea that criticism or social consequences are inherently part of a harmful witch hunt. Legality and ethics aren’t the same conversation...

In the past couple of days, I’ve seen two points getting tangled here.

First, the survivor/advocate stance matters. Dismissing it really helps no one. Many of you are speaking from a harm-reduction lens. Censorship can backfire or be used selectively, and that’s worth engaging with seriously...(🧵)

Yep. That narrows it down some. Creators often push the sky intensity so materials pop in photos. If you know how to utilize the Environment Editor, you can adjust HDRI intensity. If you see values much above "default/1-ish," that might be the problem.

Neat little trick you can do to further diagnose the problem is switch to a netural midday windlight. If the glow disappears, it's your environment values. If it stays, it's probe intensity or some captured light source.

The probe's cubemap looks over-exposed, so every PBR surface inside the probe reflects a blown-out environment. Meaning the whole area now looks like it's glowing. Try refreshing, rebuilding, or updating with the windlight you want already active.
