My Polar Plunge fundraiser is doing well! I am trying to fill my board now! Even if you can't meet a board amount, I hope you will consider donating. No amount is too small!

Bedroom has this mildew funk. It's not strong and it's ONLY the main bedroom. Really as you walk in. The attached bathroom smells fine. No leaks spotted, so I'm perplexed.

My poor wife hates brownies with nuts but my daughter and I both love them. I can't understand not having nuts in them.

I wish, especially textbooks, would come with a free, basic text ebook version. I'd be happy if it was just a "search this book" feature! Search is the best part of tech, but I much prefer reading a real book.

Had a frozen pipe last night. Thankfully, no bursting I can find.

At the gym right now.

You don't see a lot of carpeted gym locker rooms.

The term "drill and kill" is nonsense. You practice, you do better. Acting like drilling is unhelpful or harmful misunderstands student learning.

I think in regards to writing, but also, yes. Callbacks reference what has come before in a way that you really remember the previous. Foreshadowing is more a satisfying completion of some sort of arc.

Jim O'Heir just had a bit part on an episode of Voyager basically playing an even more pathetic version of Jerry Gergich.

Oh sure, but now the Insurance companies have cause to deny vaccine coverage.

What did I do? It was either anti-anxiety meds (but I was still getting them with those) or my COVID/Flu shot.

So, last November I had a terrible headache. They came and went. My bed was slanted head down and that got fixed, and tried pillows, hydrating, quit coffee. They are now finally gone.

Roast chicken is a favorite of mine and its so simple, especially if you have a thermometer. You can literally succeed by putting a chicken in a man and roasting at 350 until it comes to temp.

I went viral on Threads last night.

I deal with this with phone calls, too. "Oh, now is not the right time." Bro, just call and make the appointment!

Either my ADHD or my anxiety make working out hard, at least when I haven't before. Going to the gym becomes an Event. And I have to go at the Right Time. Which, to the non-anxious is ludicrous because any time you have time is the time.

Ah, so glad it's "Let's pretend to be edgy by saying Die Hard is a Christmas movie."

...I am vehemently opposed to telling people what to do in their own kitchen but this one has me STRUGGLING

They are delightful and have no place in chili.

The activities she values would be incredibly hard with kids. I cannot understand faulting someone for making a mature choice, or even such a deeply personal choice. It is none of my business if someone has kids or not.

I am not a woman, but my sister is. She does not have kids, never wanted them, and never will. She is close to the age it is too late to change her mind and she continues to not regret it. She is very happy and proud of the life she has. She is an incredibly successful person in a loving marriage.

That's true. Maybe I'm overeating.

Been way off that horse. I just don't have it in me lately. And I keep eating!

That's a lot. I doubt I'll keep this post up. But thanks for reading, anyway.

Thankful, daughter's cancer has shown no signs of returning (fingers crossed). Son's kidneys seem on the mend. I have no idea how to help Dr. Wife's ankles and feet aside from winning the lottery so she doesn't feel she has to work so much.

I am absolutely happy to be healthy overall. But this business of having to watch every single loved one get sick somehow and have to be the constant is wearing. I prefer being the healthy one, yes, but I would also like my loved ones to stay healthy, please.
