There should be a Trump version, 50% off!, with empty labs.

Meanwhile, China has massively pivoted to solar and wind, has the highest sales of EVs and has other leverage over oil (export of goods).

The tardis is bigger on the inside than out. Is this the anti-tardis? If so, best keep it well away from the actual thing.

Hardly pointless if your doctrine sees science as an obstruction at best and a direct refutation of your dogma at worst. Not seeing the 100 years of enormous benefits of science to the US, in particular, is willful, stupefying ignorance. The rest of the world is in disbelief.

The tree did drop them from great height presumably to avoid daycare and university fees. She did give them a good jacket.

I mean it’s pretty disturbing, the woodpeckers are carving holes in the tree to store the tree’s babies to eat on another day. WTF did the tree do to the woodpecker?

As in Minnesota, it takes courage to stand up to tyranny and we’ve seen so very little of that by the universities. It’s also obvious that doing nothing simply encourages the destruction of HE. Good for the students.

This particular condition is rare but so are many serious diseases and, collectively, they add up to a large number of patients. Amazing genetic correction that has potential for so many more diseases.

Inhibitors of Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3 with Exquisite Kinome-Wide Selectivity and Their Functional Effects The mood stabilizer lithium, the first-line treatment for bipolar disorder, is hypothesized to exert its effects through direct inhibition of glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK3) and indirectly by increasing GSK3’s inhibitory serine phosphorylation. GSK3 comprises two highly similar paralogs, GSK3Ξ± an…

We’ve used BRD0705 for alpha and BRD3731 for beta which gave results in cells and brain slices with genetic KO. From Prof. Florence Wagner:

That’s how you know I didn’t review it πŸ˜‚ There is a fairly good pair of isoform selective inhibitors from the Broad Institute. By no means perfect, especially at higher doses needed in vivo, but alpha is high in the brain and alpha KOs have several brain phenotypes.

Fantastic quote from Kevin Smith on COVID vaccine mandate for healthcare workers: β€œWe were the first hospital in the province that said, if you want to work here, you have to get vaccinated against COVID. A couple hundred people said, β€œI don’t want to do that.” They didn’t have a good medical reason, and they departed us. And I regret that they departed us. What I don’t regret is...I don’t know why you’d want to work here if you don’t believe in science. That is in our core DNA.”

Ooooh.. πŸ‘πŸ‘ will read this with great interest but methinks the focus on the beta isoform isn’t quite right. Shaggy does look more beta-like than alpha but both are involved in microtubules in mammals. Note lithium and most GSK3 inhibitors are equipotent with both forms (& the DN beta mut has issues)

Indeed, striving to have influence via social media inevitably means being distorted/diluted/polluted by that medium, falling into the trap of being agreeable, popular and sound byte-y, so that you become just another voice. Usually someone elses.
