Benito is a threat b/c he makes art so alluring and enjoyable you want to understand everything about it and then you end up learning about sugar and slavery and colonialism and the TaΓnos and Hawaii and then you probably have some thoughts of your own, and that's why art is powerful and dangerous

Happy 213th anniversary to Pride and Prejudice! A book so good some people have read it twice!

Great tyranny, lay thou thy basis sure,
For goodness dare not check thee; wear thou thy wrongs,
The title is affeer’d!

ICE love to murder people whose last words are things like "I'm not mad at you" or "are you ok?"

Minnesotans are really setting the blueprint for fighting fascism. They are being shot dead in the street and still they come out to protect their people. They continue to document, to alert neighbors, to buy and drop off groceries. Everyday. May we all be so brave

It is a truth universally acknowledged that ICE are a bunch of goose-stepping cowardly little bitches.

Image of Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice (1995) looking off camera at Lizzy as she tells him he's the last man in the world she could ever be prevailed upon to marry (sure, Lizzy). Below is a tweet by @wwxwashere "if you see me being yelled at by a beautiful woman, leave it. i'm exactly where i want to be."

Northanger deserves a truly great adaptation with a director who really goes for it. I also think it is the one Austen novel that would benefit from an expanded B and C story. The 80s version is bananas and I love it for that reason, but I want that energy plus an auteur treatment.

That’s totally fair. I really enjoyed it, but I took it very slow and read a lot of annotated content alongside the book. I don’t know that I would have liked it without the added context. That being said, I definitely had to set it down a few times and get away from all the whale facts πŸ˜‚

Just read Moby Dick for the first time. I wish I could draw some parallels between what’s happening today and a megalomaniacal captain, who ignores pleas for common sense, only to chase after something that isn’t a problem, and leads everyone to disaster. I’ll think on it some more.
