Been top of my CAMRA Heritage pub bucket list for such a long time but finally conquered and didn't disappoint.
A timeless, rural gem with adjacent sweet shop hidden deep down in the Murk Esk Valley of the North Yorkshire Moors.
Three Horseshoes, Whitwick, Leicestershire.
Got to be a pub of the year contender. My type of pub and excellent Draught Bass. Friendly dog taking the beer order.
I miss my moth trap. Good fun at my Mum's house but it's pointless on this new housing estate. Maybe next year once my nascent garden and pond has matured.

A rollercoaster of a match in a dank corner of the Potteries. The visitors surrender a three goal lead before restoring order late on through a hat-trick from ex-Chester youth player Tom Ruffer.
Splendid chips and curry.
Two great observations there! The ignorance of UK geography by most folk (sometimes they astonish me on University Challenge at not knowing where, say, Exeter is) and how our generation are bloody vandals!!!

An under threat non-league classic. Surrounded by evergreens and housing with a colossal crumbling steeply-banked concrete terrace. An eventful game. The visitors denied victory thanks to the Peacocks' injury-time leveller.
Passed there many a time on birdwatching trips to Gronant. Hadn't realised it had reopened after being forlorn and abandoned so long. Must call in!

I'm tempted to say this must be the only pub in Britain let alone Warwickshire to feature the name of a Native American tribe.
It's actually titled after where the builder of the pub's son settled in Michigan. Put that in your peace pipe and smoke it.
Pub Sign of the Week:
Four Elms, Edenbridge, Kent.
Crab Tree, Beeding, West Sussex.
Walnut Tree, Broad Green, Essex.
Seeing as it's National Tree Week, here's three for you.
Not heard of Goztepe before but, then again, after a quick glance at the Super Lig table, that goes for most of the teams.
I usually support a team in all the main countries of Europe (eg Udinese, Rayo Vallecano, Kaiserslautern). I need one for Turkey!
Painting of the Week: "A Man With A Pint" - Frederick Elwell (1932)
A fabulous piece of work. A charming depiction of a chap doing what an increasingly few of us like to do, popping down to a friendly local for a proper beer and a read.
I was going to say, it must have a good chance of getting in the GBG. Used to be in our Chester & South Clwyd CAMRA branch but that's been divided into Dee Valley (Welsh pubs) and West Cheshire (Chester area). Made sense.

The visitors are fuming with themelves as two injury time goals rescue an undeserved point for the Flyers.
Due to sharing with a cricket team, an intriguing two and a half sided ground with nice barrel-roofed end.
Thanks. I've barely scratched the surface in the Northern League. I did Billingham Town recently. That was good.
