that's so cool!! i was so wowed with the satin details, the light hitting the curtains in the back, and all the hues on sanji's skin... this is truly such a beautiful piece. i can't imagine how you layered the colours ahhhh this is so amazing 🥹

the page is black again and simply reads "but I shouldn't have let that make me forget what I was used to."

once again in the dark, nami is cloaked as she rides on her spot-billed duck, kicking up dust as they speed along, leaving alabasta at night. her thoughts are scattered across the page. "maybe some people are meant to stay guarded. maybe it's too cruel, too cynical, ruins the good times that are meant to be cherished, but I fooled myself into thinking I was done with loss and couldn't deal with the fallout. what'd I do all that for? yeah, what is the point?"

this page is black. nami continues, "even if you don't know how to keep wanting,"—bell-mere's grave stands tall and nami steps along in the dark, gazing at it with a hand placed on it—"for you to keep going." in the next drawing, nami is holding a dagger, biting her lip with a pained expression. her pose resembles her breakdown scene where she stabs her arlong tattoo, except the dagger appears to be pointing at her throat.

the black fades out to a scene of luffy giggling with an arm around nami while nami laughs back and elbows him. nami's thoughts continue, "so you can reach the next good thing." the next part shows vivi smiling faintly while looking into the distance, while nami stands slightly behind, looking at her shyly, as she continues her thought with, "and the next."

nami thinks, "like someone who gets you," while the page shows nami carrying a sack of loot from when she was saving up to buy cocoyashi, and vivi in her miss wednesday costume going undercover.

nami starts with a thought, "growing up, i've always wanted a girl best friend." the page depicts a scene of nami hiding behind a corner, looking at two other girls her age sitting together sharing a swing and chattering. she absent-mindedly steps out from hiding while watching them with a small smile as a hand (bell-mere's) inches towards her. bell-mere pulls on nami's ear which she doesn't anticipate, making her squeak and pulling her from her daze. in the last panel you can see that she's holding a book to her chest.

nami continues her thought, "but I was used to not getting everything I wanted." the girls on the swing are tipping back and turning to see bell-mere and nami bowing to a lady in apology, though nami is being forced to bow by bell-mere shoving her head down. the book nami was holding earlier is in the lady's hand as it was originally hers until nami stole it.

nami's thoughts continue, broken across the page. "That's OK. I know now that what I got was still really, really good." she remembers bickering with her family while harvesting tangerines after getting scolded for stealing, happily having a delicious meal with nojiko, and being fed tangerine slices by bell-mere while she reads about navigation.

nami is still thinking of the last memory, of bell-mere still holding the rest of a tangerine and pulling away after nami has eaten her slice. nami thinks, "And when there's not enough, you make do," then separately, "Persist." the last word is written over a shadowy view of arlong smiling wickedly.

zoro is using 3 baby style, carrying two babies in his arms and one with his mouth. sanji is behind him tying his hair and watching zoro with a skeptical look on his face. dialogue: sanji - is that safe? there's no way that's safe. zoro - relax. i've done this before. sanji - (loudly) WHEN??? zoro - don't worry about it

a 4 panel comic panel 1: zoro is on the phone with baba (the mom character from a water 7 filler episode) while sanji walks around in the background holding a baby bottle. zoro says "um, hey-" before getting cut off. panel 2: baba snaps at zoro. "'um hey'??? that is NO WAY to greet your mother!" sternly, she tells him "CALL ME MOM. i'm not answering your questions otherwise." panel 3: zoro awkwardly says "o... ok... mom... um". behind, sanji overhears and flips his head around with a sort of pissy caught-off-guard expression when he says 'mom'. panel 4: sanji is grabbing zoro by the collar, trembling and teary, dramatically yelling, "WHY HAVEN'T I MET YOUR MOTHER. WHAT AM I TO YOU. DO YOU EVEN LOVE ME." zoro replies frustrated and gritting his teeth, saying "I HAVE LITERALLY FOLLOWED YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH," then adds loudly, "AND SHE'S NOT MY MOM!!" then sanji yells at zoro again, saying "DO NOT DISRESPECT YOUR MOTHER."

panel 1: sanji and zoro are lying down on a bed and crossing their arms. sanji is turned towards zoro and says to him, "we need separate beds because your tits take up too much space." zoro says "uhuh" in return with an unconvinced look. panel 2: the camera pans out to show sanji's legs and his big butt hogging the space on the bed while zoro has to twist his legs to the side to accommodate.

sanji is wearing a big t-shirt that says "HOT MESS" in all caps. he looks proud, standing with his fists on his hips, and says "this shirt is so me." next to him, zoro replies "wow. yeah." however, sanji thinks that 'hot mess' means 'attractive and complicated' while zoro thinks 'hot mess' means something similar to 'hot garbage', therefore refers to an unmanageable disaster like a burning heap of junk.

originally, i blindly colour-picked from this lovely chappell roan photoshoot while i set my display to greyscale, but it looked SOOOO ASS so i had colour it normally 💔 anyway here's the uncoloured version i was working with most of the time, had a lot of fun!!

sanji is wide-eyed gazing slightly upwards, tucking a lock of hair behind his right ear while he smiles open-mouthed, talking about the all blue. the illustration is warmly coloured, except for sanji's blue pupil and the blue sparks in the air.

zoro is tipsy and out of it. sanji has him grabbed by the back of his collar and asks, "how did you of all people get drunk?" then, zoro grabs sanji's face by the cheeks with both hands, which confuses sanji. still holding his face, zoro kisses sanji on the forehead. sanji's eyes bug out with more confusion. later, zoro, still drunk, tucks his head in the crook of sanji's neck while drunkenly muttering to himself. the cartoonish drunk particles floating around him are now mixed with little hearts. sanji reaches his hands around zoro and wonders, "how do I make fun of him for this tomorrow?"
