If Russian attacks continue at this rate & Ukraine continues to repel them, they will easily reach the total of 1.2 million casualties by the end of the year, for very little gain. This seems to be the target the Russian generals are aiming at.

Russia's way of fighting wars is to cause utter destruction. They know nothing else & think that this is the only way. Their leadership has no regard for human life, either that of their own troops or the enemy. I 🙏 that when this war is over the war crimes trials will give them all long sentences.

Putin's attacks on civilians out of pure spite are sickening! This is because the Ukrainian people have rejected his distorted claim that Ukraine is part of Russia & he's not winning on the battlefield. He's a typical dictator who believes that whatever he does must be right. He's a war criminal!

A slight increase, Putin must be getting desperate to throw lives away so uselessly. At least 2/3 of these would be either dead or too badly injured to ever return to service, no wonder Putin has to recruit cannon fodder from around the world!

Putin is doing no more than any other dictator has ever done, putting the blame on someone else when denying or trying to hide their part in their actions. Hitler did it blaming Jews & Communists. While would be dictator Trump usually tries to put the blame on Joe Biden.

This is typical of Trump!! I would ask him how can supplying Ukraine with a weapon similar to, albeit arguably better than, ones Putin is already using be an escalation? It's just an excuse by Trump to do nothing & appease his mate Putin! The man really is doolally!!

These are much cheaper than conventional rockets but still much more expensive than killer drones. However they will no doubt be a useful addition to Ukraine's arsenal.

Surely this is rubbish as Putin is already using long-range cruise missiles against Ukraine. So how can this be an escalation? Putin really is acting as a kettle calling the pot black!!

We still don't know if Harpoons will be supplied to Ukraine! Trump says he's waiting to hear about the sort of targets etc. they would be used against. Is this just his usual waffling before he quietly forgets about it? I hope not but strongly suspect that it is!!

These are easy targets unlikely to seriously fight back. He's a bully so will always go for easy targets.

Trump's a bully, he'll go for the weak not the strong, that's why he's done nothing serious to Putin.

You can never believe anything Trump says, how many times has he promised action against Putin & done nothing! He seems to ignore that, many believe, that deep down Putin could be little more than a KGB thug.

The problem with living in today's world is that crooks, often very rich ones, will find ways to make money. Often going against the wishes of their government & the majority of their countrymen, as seems to be the case with this.

Not strictly true, on the 18th of August 2019 the US Navy successfully tested a land based vertical launcher based on its Mk 41 vertical launch system. A small number may have been produced & so some may be ready to use or perhaps can be readily produced.

It's debatable whether or not these are legitimate targets or not. But it can be argued that the intention is to freeze Ukrainian civilians this winter. Making this another of Putin's war crimes!!

Russia's losses are a bit higher today.

As a start every Russian incursion into NATO territory should, initially, be met with increased support for Ukraine. But when naval vessels &/or maned aircraft enter our airspace they should be attacked immediately! Plus the shadow fleet should be interned at once.

I suspect that if the USA does get into a war in the next 3 or so years it will be because of Trump blinders, not "preparation".

Russian attacks on Ukrainian powerplants continue as an annual prelude to winter but this winter many Russians will have to struggle to get about in the cold with petrol in short supply. Refineries, unlike Ukrainian homes & civilian powerplants, are legitimate military targets!!

True but never enough to do more than slow down the Russian advance. Much more has always been needed.

Putin is adding to his war criminal credentials by attacking yet more civilians & the infrastructure they need for day to day life.

At a guess refineries are getting too heavily defended. So Ukraine is going for the softer option. Perhaps it could just be a ruse to get air defences moved away from other areas.

Europe must act, on its own territory if nowhere else. It's difficult to shoot down drones over built up areas, so we must go for the launch sites. In this case Putin's shadow fleet must be shut down, at least within range of European waters. Europe as a whole has the naval & airpower to do this!

The map gives the organisations opinion on these "attacks". Whilst I agree that Russian aircraft overflights are provocations, as are the drones which are likely to originate in Russia, I know of only one case, in the UK, where people have been charged with sabotage as Russian agents.

Sorry but I'll wait until I see the evidence. Over here we had a bad warehouse fire a couple of days ago, at once we were told that it was housing military supplies for Ukraine. It actually turned out to be a printing works & I've yet to hear what the cause was. So I'll just wait for the evidence.

As I wrote yesterday although there's a very slight chance that this was caused by Russia, none of the official reports I've seen even hint at this. Almost anything can cause explosions. Plus would Putin risk Trump over reacting & sending massive aid to Ukraine or even activating NATO article 5?
