Where did reading comprehension go- y'all are putting words in their mouth. "I wish more people were willing to talk to strangers" is synonymous with saying "I wish the world as a whole was kinder, and didn't encourage malice." NOT "I think you're rude POS for not wanting to talk to me"

Think of all the artists who just post commissions. That's all they ever have time for. You don't know what they like or who their OCs are because they're always working.

Yeah, it really would. To bad capitalism as a system sucks so fucking bad people can't.

Capitalism is a bright upon society.

There have been a large number of studies done on what happens when people have either their baseline needs met, or the money to meet those needs provided, done. And every single one found: people are happier, and around 10-20x more productive.

But that's not even what I was referring to.

There are people that would gladly do nothing but build houses every single day. There are people that would gladly cook just to cook, clean just to clean, do analytics, just cuz.

But because of money, and needing to be able to survive, they can't.

Just a few decades ago, MOST people built their own homes. Land is just too expensive to justify that nowadays. (Buy a rundown house for 20-40k, or buy an empty plot of land for 20-40k.... And that's only on the LOW END.)

It really isn't that hard. Basic understanding of physics, what thickness of wood can bare what weight, and you can physically feel when something is load baring. My grandparents didn't hire contractors, they only hired a work team to put up the walls for them because they're old and frail.

My grandma and Grandpa literally just built their own house a few years ago. It only took them two years. The house I live in, was built by my GREAT grandparents. And they technically built two, cuz our garage was the house before the house was built. And we built our pole barn(s), and carport.

I'm pretty sure there's quite a few people who WOULD if they could.

Humans didn't choose to start building houses because they were paid to do so. They did so because they'd rather build their own then live in the mouth of a cave or under a tree.
