The Alienation of Jaime Cachua (Gift Article)
His friends and family members in Rome, Ga., voted to support mass deportation. Now heβs scrambling to stay in the country.
I can't tell you how often immigration lawyers are contacted by people perfectly happy to deport everyone here without papers until they find out someone they care about is facing removal. But he's one of the good ones!

Number of Indictments and Convictions of Biden White House Appointees: Zero | Washington Monthly
The Biden administration is one of the most ethical, least criminal federal administrations in history.
How clean is the Biden admin? No political appointee of Biden's was indicted or convicted of a crime. And no cabinet officials resigned following accusations of impropriety.
ο»ΏThat's a remarkable ethical achievement for a presidential administration.

Biden Team Considers Blanket Pardons Before Trumpβs Promised βRetributionβ
White House officials believe President-elect Donald J. Trumpβs selection of partisan warriors for top law enforcement jobs indicates that he will pursue revenge against his perceived enemies.
Ridiculous that this is necessary, but I agree. Even if there is not a shred of evidence supporting criminal charges, having to defend against DOJ charges would bankrupt most people.

How Trump's mass deportation plan can use AI to extend immigration crackdown
AI is already being used at the U.S.-Mexico border to enforce homeland security. Trump's mass deportation plan will likely expand that well beyond the border.
I am sort of a Johnny Appleseed for using AI to help reduce the access to justice gap and help lawyers do better work. But this is the dark side of what AI can do in the immigration space. Expect lawsuits (with which I will hopefully help).
