Thanks to ConfirmAccount, these bots are nowhere close to getting edit rights. Most of them don't even get this far; they're blocked by IP or TLD.

But it's surprising how rampant these idiot spambots are. I don't think you could run an open registration wiki today, not without constant moderation.

3. Shannon from Olivet in France, the Northern capital of Centre. Her entire family likes Knapping, a word I had to look up. It means smashing rocks apart.

2. Meagan, a teenager from Prebuch who inexplicably has the email address 'sebastiangee'. Like all Austrian gen-alphas, her favourite TV show is Modern Family.

I turned on the bio requirement for new account requests on morguefile.wiki. Which means the spambots are now generating hilarious fake bios.

1. Manuel from the Netherlands (email address: leslieomalley) married at age 3, but after that rocky start in life managed to get a job at the the office.

The craziest part about the PS1 Japanese port of Transport Tycoon is that it has an optional 3D mode that somehow actually captures the charm of the 2D isometric view, and that is crazy to me.

The Crew 2 is accidentally one of the funniest games ever made because of its procedurally generated storefronts.

It took years for Nintendo and Charlton Heston to patch up their relationship after the latter concluded that only the CD-ROM format could allow him to fully realise the vision for his latest RPG epic. It would have been a different landscape if the N64 had used discs instead of cartridges.

RIP to Itagaki, whose poisonous (but totally kayfabe) vendetta against Tekken was a relentlessly entertaining thread out of the early 2000s Japan dev news scene. You knew you were in for a treat if you got an interview with him.

Please stop pronouncing ROG (as in Xbox ROG Ally X) as 'rogue'. It's a nickname for Roger and is pronounced 'roj' with a short o.

We're a bit late to the party, but Data Crystal turned 20 years old last month! That's... old.

Microsoft placing conditions (each of which materially benefits Microsoft) on the delivery of Windows 10 security updates is the literal definition of a protection racket.

Creating security patches and not rolling them out universally is a cartoonishly evil act and makes everyone less safe. Fixing security holes you introduced is your actual job, Microsoft! You don't get to trade them for personal data!

Windows 10 goes out of support today. My fave useless fact about w10 is that the iconic blue desktop background is a *photograph* - not CGI.
