Battle of Hill 170
The Battle of Hill 170 was a battle between the British 3rd Commando Brigade and the Japanese 54th Division during the Second World War. The battle was fought in January 1945, as part of the Burma Campaign.
#OTD (Jan 31) in the year 1945: World War II: The end of fighting in the Battle of Hill 170 during the Burma Campaign, in which the British 3 Commando Brigade repulsed a Japanese counterattack on their positions and precipitated a general retirement from the Arakan Peninsula. #OTDIH #history ποΈ

Nowt wrong with the Manics, seen them a few times. Have the same attitude with the family, but they don't like coldplay, either. Used to see & talk to Nicky Wire regularly in my hometown of Newport, esp in Boots & Superdrug.

US 756th Rail Shop Battalion update
Believe over 800 S160's were assembled at Ebbw Junction, plus S100's, tankers & much more. Went to a good talk on it at our local museum by Bobs Rail Relics from YouTube about the 756th Railway Shop Batt (RSB) a couple of months ago.

Thanks for that. Just thought it was the one I mentioned, as they were assembled at the Ebbw Junction facility in my hometown of Newport, for use around the country & then on the continent after D-Day, going over on HMS Twickenham.

Just to say a Merry Christmas to all the people I know associated with @newportrfc.bsky.social & the @WeHaveWaysPod. It's been a tough year, with dad passing away, severe health problems & Vic's accident. Thank you for your support, appreciate it a lot. All the best to you this Christmas.
