Unfortunately that happens; some first responders will overuse naloxone. Training people who use drugs and family members along with harm reduction orgs would be a great service. but it’s good it’s out there and available. And hopefully the NG folks are using it well. (And get to go home asap)

I note that they were provided naloxone (and used it 44 times) hopefully with appropriate training. DC harm reduction orgs would be happy to help deliver naloxone at a much lower cost and provide a wider range of services.

"Many Guard members have also been engaged in beautification work. As of Sept. 2025, they had packed 6,030 pounds of food, painted 270 feet of fence and pruned 65 trees, according to the report. The work has been halted for the winter and will resume in the spring."

A real bargain for $330 million.
