We all know it's actually really cool to write every single story like the viewers are literal children
All my lgbt friends just LOVE when a story stops everything to read a Wikipedia article about them when any lgbt character shows up
We must look into camera and explain everything

I remember learning about the Hays Code in film school and how it made it so that any amoral protagonist had to meet karmic justice by the end of the film and going “wow, that’s really silly” and then once a week I log online and see people argue that we need stuff like that now or it’s problematic

It's also kinda interesting how, while not a contract in the literal sense, Pochita extended his wishes for Denji to include Nayuta as well and when Denji sees Nayuta as dead it could also come off as a failure to keep his promise w Pochita even w his renewed dream Control losing the love she sought

Also I think in Death being erased, it might have also erased the context of Denji's and Asa's father's deaths + Yoru's California contract even though it still works and the concept of killing still remains.
Which also divides Asa's guilt into the guilt of loss in death or the guilt of hurting.

Pochita can't eat AsaYoru because Denji has gotten attached to AsaYoru and that attachment is dangerous for Denji and Pochita because Yoru wants him dead. (Similar to how Yoshida wants Asa to stay away from Denji at the cost of her isolation) It's this contrast that interests me, Asa's desire to

as the only family he has left. His rejection of Nayuta was to keep her safe from him but that failed too when he sees her head on the sushi belt, the crowd doesn't love him and Nayuta is dead what else is there for him? Well he still has Pochita. It's always been Pochita.

simply redirected his love TO his fandom (even though it's the cause of him losing his home or precisely because of it) instead, if losing his home is the price of playing hero then he'll make it count by playing the hero even if that means he can't be with Nayuta anymore to keep her away from him

Also Denji not going Pochita as Barem and co. had intended by burning his house leads me to believe that Denji pulling the starter wasn't yet a resignation when he lost his home and the pets hence the whole massage thing and why it "feels like a million bucks" even though it hurts because Denji

And the times Pochita reverts back into Denji is when Denji rediscovers love in loss and sacrifice (Power/Asa overlap) when Denji gives up on love to distance from loss, he gives up on his dreams which consequently summons Pochita to save him. Denji's version of "Save me, Chainsaw Man."

Denji more. And here's another thought, I think what actually triggers Denji's transformation into Pochita isn't necessarily that he's suffering for the sake of it but that he gives up on love (curse of love as a burden and sin imparted by Makima) due to his suffering over it.

Another interesting thought is what happens if Pochita saving Denji and Denji realising his dreams become at odds with each other. It kinda reframes 181/182 as well with the way... Pochita and Asa are aligned in their goal of saving Denji but Pochita interrupts AsaYoru's attempts and motivated

Like based on the way it's shot and the very few recurring stuff it has it bases itself around it's not hard to see what it's trying to be deliberate about but also this is out of my fandom.
