My kids are healthy and I took a nice walk today. My wife made a soup today and I have a couple of dogs snoring on the couch.

Stay strong, true and know the tide has turned.

That is strong advice.

Every person I admire actively de-learns and learns fresh.

They are self aware enough to realize what they knew in the past may not apply to the present.

The only nonprofits I have loved working at have done the same thing.

I want to host a space monthly on zoom for people in the nonprofit world to build community. For the last year i was thinking of hosting this space as a way to help me there’s to build skills to push back against poorly run orgs. Having some type of organization outside of the orgs.

Let me pick your brain. Lots of people in the nonprofit world need true community around them to both move through what is happening and to be more empowered in their orgs. I want to set up a space virtually to provide this as an option and to see what comes from it. Any guidance?

Right on. Living as clean and clear as you can manage is walking out of the dark. Whether it is substances, spending, consumption- most are used under false beliefs that must be dismantled.

Transactional interactions are a sign of a nonprofit in need of help.

“Do this and I’ll give you that” is not mission driven work. We are meant to give because we are inspired.

I’ve worked at some unbelievably awesome nonprofits.

The common thread through all of them is that they have alignment between their mission and people. For most, they first use the spirit of their mission to build their employee culture.

Keep rolling along upheaval. Aside from being in the middle of the collapse of society, as an amateur historian it’s a pretty wild thing to witness.

I would be interested in seeing the numbers of this same poll post -election. My deepest hope is that some people have been shaken more awake from this cultural conditioning but maybe that’s a hollow wish

… of thinking just on politics, it’s kind of amazing the number isn’t higher on susceptibility.

From earliest experiences we have been shaped by cultural forces to conform, obey, and follow the leader.

It is so hardwired in us that invariably people return to it in times of stress. . .

You got me thinking since it does surprise me but I’m realizing it shouldn’t.

First reaction was 43% being susceptible to authoritarian rule was higher than I would have guessed since I would have went more with straight Trumpers and a 20-30% mark.

But in thinking about it and moving it out . .

Keep this in mind. Where most of us spend the most time is overwhelmingly the most un-democratic.

Workplaces are largely authoritarian and shut most employees out of power and say.

Support democracy by pushing for change at your job.

There are easy and hard ways of doing things.

Force, pushing, exertion- it’s all limited.

Alignment, collaboration, flow-are limitless.

A truly great workplace knows the difference.

Like so much with the boomers it is a real mystery. So many of them literally want to stand on the necks of younger people until Death finally comes and takes them away.

Go and enjoy your life, your grandkids and maybe a nap in the afternoon. Nope. I am busy still clawing at power. Ugh

Oh for the ever loving love of god please let go and start to head towards the light. They are the last generation who will ever be able to retire but they refuse to.

Hang in there and keep at it.

Coming across a person who you vibe with unexpectedly is one of Life’s greatest pleasures.

Some people are just so gosh darn awesome and inspiring.
