I'm always struck by how flexible items in Shiren games are beyond their stated purpose. For instance, there's a staff that turns monsters into your doppelganger to distract other ones. I used it to deliberately level up a Mamel to its highest tier and then one shot it for 8 level ups. Felt great. 😎

Everything is getting old enough that it needs a little bit of maintenance, and it's a great opportunity to pick up a soldering iron and a multimeter and learn some stuff. But yeah, this is absolutely why MiSTer, rpi's, emulators, etc are all really beneficial, so much easier to use consistently

I feel like I never hear anyone in this space talk about it unless you're already deep into it, but one major thing I try to stress to people if they're interested in vintage hardware, get ready to do maintenance or pay someone who can.

I let my brain take over and for whatever reason it settled on Ape Escape 2, so I've been playing that.

I like it, it is very colorful and charming. Levels are fun, and I like seeing the monkeys doing all their goofy little things in the levels.

AND I WILL CAPTURE THEM ALL.

Updates for Tales of Rebirth English Patch 1.0: - Fixed bug that would cause sidequest flags to become unset. - Fixed bug where subtitles in the "Speech" FMV would cause a game crash on hardware. - Fixed first memory card message appearing as black screen. - Fixed font palette issues. - In-battle subs code has been rewritten to display code in chat log style; no more disappearing subtitles. - Geyorkias's subtitles now correctly map to the correct voice lines. - Various typo and consistency fixes. - Anikamal save bug (present in the original game) has been fixed. - Menu background during pause display bug (present in the original game) has been fixed.

every time i am ever critical of bluesky it's because i enjoy my time here, have nicely made a home for myself, and want the place to succeed. i'm on my hands and fucking knees begging them to stop walking into rakes like please for the love of allmo just look down at the ground to avoid the rakes.

So far it seems to be working in full, but more testing and processing to come!

After 7 months of work, my latest project: a full English patch of Kingdom Hearts Mobile! You can play all 8 of these previously-lost mini-games, in English for the first time.

There's puzzle games, card games, rhythm games, and more, and even canon lore!

The NES arcade cabinets use a weird different version of the PPU that gives "RGB" colors, but the way the NES typically does color is kinda weird so that one tends to look extra bizarre and off.
