Factory machinery, the printing press, the computer were all meant to make our (working) lives easier. But the 5 days a week, 8 hours a day work week persists. They'll always find another way to exploit human labour.

True AGI, which is said to be the be all and end all of the field is not the good ending they want you to think it is. It doesn't save the economy, it doesn't destroy the economy either.

As the tech improves, the cost goes down and the efficiency goes up but the market cannot grow infinitely.

The cost of the computing power (and actual power) to run the server farms of a 'useful AI' exceeds the possible use cases for said AI. A small plumbing business does not need an AI chat bot. A high school does not need generative art classes.

There is only so much data to scrape, and as the internet fills up with more and more generative slop, the quality of that information dilutes. They've already violated every intellectual property law in the world and it still makes images with 16 fingers and hallucinates historical figures

It's the same snake oil salesmen with generative chat bots instead of NFT's and VR headset 'workplaces'.

I refuse to believe that actual intelligent people (without a vested interest in the industry succeeding), actually believe AI is going to be as big as the companies peddling it want you to think it is. Look at Web3, the metaverse and every other 'revolutionary tech' of the last 10 years.
