I'm with you Gardner (what can I call you?). I prefer cold to heat. It's not the cold that I mind but I get tired of feeling cooped up after a while. Like about now. We've had snow on the ground since late November.

It's been snowing since about 10 am and is supposed to continue until about 2 am, in western Mass. But in a few days, the world will turn upside down and all that snow will melt and wash us out to sea. Frankly, I'm not looking forward to that either.

Until recently, I (pardon the expression) bombed around EU solo for years, w/no worries. I knew I was surrounded by a bubble that included a powerful and knowledgeable State Dept. It would always be there for me. No more! YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. W/o language skills/contingency plans/$$$, forget it.

My brother in law would have been perfect for that job! He's worked on building boat parts all his life, has kept his youthful physique and even took drafting courses at night school. Too bad.
