Far away, the sounds of the lecture drifted past you and faded to nothing...

You didn’t even recognise the voice. You barely recognised their face. But you let them take you anyway. It wasn’t like you had much of a choice.

Laid across their lap, head resting against their chest, you nursed on your bottle, bare, aside from the stained white diaper between your legs.

Out of the chair you came, cradled in arms that felt impossibly strong, holding you like you weighed nothing.

“I’ve got you baby. You’re going to have some yummy milk and then I’m going to change your stinky diapee~ Doesn’t that sound nice?”

A polite *ahem* broke the crowd around you.

“We will have to start on the lecture at some point,” your professor said wryly.

“But it’s time for their feed! And from the smell of it a change~”

“I don’t mind if he stays, just take him out quietly if he starts crying. He’s still enrolled after all.”

Your regressed mind gurgled in delight at the sweet words. The part of your mind that was still an adult smiled too.

“It’s better this way,” you thought hazily, hands mindlessly grasping at the mobile that hung above you. “They like me now. What else do I need?”

So when a mysterious voice in the late hours of the night offered change, you couldn’t help but say yes.

They promised everyone would adore you. They promised you’d have all the care you craved. They weren’t lying.

“You’re such a little cutie, aren’t you baby~ Yes you are! Yes you are!”

At worst you were an abnormality, something closer to alien than human, a freak of nature that made fragile egos prickle.

The years of isolation left you shy and without company. You couldn’t remember the last time you made a friend. You wished desperately for things to be different.

You didn’t understand why others couldn’t think like you did and the gulf in age between yourself and your classmates, while only a few years, felt insurmountable. At best you were a curio to those around you. Less of a peer, more of a *thing* to be marvelled at.

It was probably the most attention that they’d ever given you. You didn’t even know their names. You’d always been separate. Different.

High school by eleven, university by sixteen, half-way through masters by twenty. You just got things faster, made connections others didn’t.

Your (former) classmates fawned around your oversized bouncer chair. They played with your hair, giggled as you clasped your hand around their fingers, waved as your vacant eyes latched to their faces, and of course, checked your diaper. They loved that part.
