I’m passionate about this as someone who was in high school when it came out and fucking loved Fall Out Boy, so I have a distinct memory of this being the first album to ever disappoint the everloving shit out of me. Man Young and Menace is still just, one of the worst songs ever 8 years later

Like if it was just, unsuccessful with no hits I don’t think it’d qualify, like, they were a rock band in 2018, that was more likely to happen than not. But it’s very clearly them still *trying* to get big hits, and failing miserably

And it’s also like, super directionless. It feels very “No Fixed Address”-esque where they’re just throwing shit at the wall to try to get at least one hit. You get an EDM song, a reggaeton song, a tropical house song, an Ed Sheeran-esque ballad, pretty much every trend of the time

100% yes and also one of the albums I’ve been wanting to be on the series for a long time. Just one album prior they had multiple big radio hits and were one of the last rock bands that could claim that, and this album had zero songs even chart and completely bricked, on top of being awful

Ftr I doubt this will happen unless new consoles stop printing money but, I can dream. But we have definitely reached the point where new consoles just feel like when the new iPhone drops more than being super exciting and cool

Graphic and hardware quality improvements have plateaued so hard in recent years that I am genuinely in heavy favor of just not having new consoles at all. Like, the graphic jumps from PS1 to PS2, and from PS2 to PS3 were so insane and that’s just not happening anymore
