It is soap - if you look closely when it clumps on their wigs or costumes you can see the teeny tiny bubbles.

I love when the historical dramas gently mock the petal scenes by having support characters on the roof with baskets of petals and fans. It's so cute and meta.

I haven't seen Seven Relics, but from what I know of it you might enjoy 19th Floor too. Bai Shu is great fun in it!

In a past career I ran a "snow" machine like they use in the dramas. I know how slippery the soap foam those fluffy "snowflakes" are made of can be, so I sometimes get distracted during the beautiful emotional snowy scenes thinking about how they're all gonna be slip-sliding across the set soon.

I watched it a while back and quite enjoyed it. It's a mystery thriller with some nice friendships and moreships. There's a heavy sci-fi/fantasy angle, which enjoy but may not be for all tastes.

I am slowly learning basic Korean, so I'm hardly qualified to judge translators, but with several hundred dramas watched I did notice a lot of subs that were trying to be "what was meant" rather than "what was said." Yet sometimes what was actually said was important - word choices matter!

Netflix subtitles often seem to pick simplicity over accuracy - not a good choice with a context driven language like Korean. The variety in sub quality from show to show is kind of wild.

Ah, correction: Soo Hyuk shows up in the last 10 minutes of ep 1 and is a lot of ep 2.

Sang Yi's scene is in the credits of ep 4. It's too silly to miss.

Even if you decide to not watch the whole thing, every experienced kdrama watcher deserves to enjoy the chaebol-trope-skewering chaos that is Lee Soo Hyuk's arc from mid-episode 1 into 2, and the frothy nonsense of the dating spree in ep 4.

She was serviceable. It wasn't a complex performance but it also wasn't a nuanced role. I wasn't offended by any of it. I've seen much worse from people who are praised for their acting.

Seo In Guk and the boyfriends balanced well with her, taking on the broad comedy and heavier emotional lifting.

I won't pretend #BoyfriendOnDemand broke any new ground but it did a nice job of balancing giggle-inducing nonsense, varying levels of self-awareness and growth, and sweet romances.

The cameos were on point throughout. I nearly fell off the couch laughing at the scenario with Lee Sang Yi.

I just finished it today and I can say that it's mostly lighthearted, but there's a fair amount of (occasionally confusing) intrigue plot and in the second half things do get emotional.
The leads do a good job balancing the funny, intense, and romantic. The whole cast is great, actually.

Here to agree that online searching is basically all ads.
That said, is it Watashi no Oyome-kun (Mr Bride) by any chance? From MDL: Hayami is a top saleswoman, admired for her perfection. However, her home is a mess. Yamamoto offers to help with the housework in exchange for staying at her place.

Oh my dude, no. Degreaser needed!

I finished #LoveInTheClouds and I'm really starting to believe that if a #cdrama involves Immortals or cultivation, it is not for me. I'm 0/3 this winter, even though I picked well-regarded shows.

Going to go back to my comfort zone of military ladies, transmigration follies, moderns, and minis.

Goodness yes! What a shame, as I wasn't planning to watch this one, because his character description (and styling, it turns out) is more my taste but I doubt he's the final choice. I can only enjoy this type of plot if the final choice is the one I would make, but it so rarely is.

dumplings, tanghulu, general, gratitude, festival, jade, regal, emperor, wuxia, poison (also page, prey, and poof but those don't seem as cdrama related)

This looks like the #cdrama version of the Colin Firth Mr Darcy and the pond scene.

If I ever watched this drama (unlikely, as I'm not a wuxia watcher) I'd surely get the giggles seeing this happen.

I would like my self-insert-fic-style-wish-fulfilment romantic nonsense kdrama sooner please, Netflix. February is getting to me.

There were stats from the last election about 70%+ of men under 30 (or was it 35?) supporting Yoon's party. Women were by a vast majority going the opposite direction. No wonder 4B exists.

I haven't seen KBS 2025 anywhere yet. I was actually wondering if Love Track was a substitute for that, but I don't know for sure.

I like the KBS drama specials and TVN O'penings for the same reason... Little drama bites that can be enjoyed in between longer commitment shows.

3 is too hard! Here's two for each of the three main genres I watch:
Modern: Reset, Why Women Love
Costume-Fantasy: A Dream Within A Dream, Romance of Tiger and Rose,
Mini: A Familiar Stranger, Dream Once More

Wait, what? They "cheated" their way to success through grinding hard rather than through the connections and opportunities that may come from attending schools that many others in the industry also attended? That math doesn't math.

*This is not to deny the talent those who did go to those schools.

2️⃣ He's fine. I've only seen him in a couple things and they were similar characters that he played competently but without complexity. Seems like those casting directors knew the "type" he can play.

So I don't have strong feelings about him, but I do think he has a nice smile.

How's he supposed to have a "soaking moodily in a vat of steam" scene in a modern apartment?

I'll be checking it out, but not until I clear the four (or five?) drama backlog I've built up. I really like the cast and the premise looks silly in a fun way.

It's available for free with occasional ads on Tubi.

Good grief, all this cover-up and unnecessary lies to hide the fact that she tried to not hurt an animal, injured herself, and bonked a few inanimate objects? What a bunch of terrible decisions (except not running over an animal - that was a good decision).

I tried to pick folks 25 or under (challenging!)
Women: Shin Eun Soo is talented and busy. Chae Won Bin has the potential to go big.
Men: Cho Jun Young was busy in 2025 and showed great range. Hong Min Ki stood out in everything I've seen. Cha Woo Min is deservedly the internet's darling right now.
