➑️ Our whistleblower clients warned about the risk of detained child deaths in 2014. Their warnings went unheeded and 7-year-old Jakelin Caal Maquin died in U.S. custody in 2018. Her death was the first of many to follow.

Inside the Dilley detention facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo-Ramos is being held Protests took place this weekend at the detention center in Dilley, Texas, where a 5-year-old Columbia Heights boy and his father are being held. The two were detained by ICE in Minnesota last Friday.

➑️ Accounts reveal that families are being moved in the middle of the night when ICE assumes attorneys will have their phones off. At family detention centers, hundreds of children experience verbally abusive guards, contaminated food, and inadequate medical attention.

Recently, ICE stated, β€œDilley [detention center] personnel...work every day to ensure families in their care are safe, healthy and well.”

The agency went so far as to claim, β€œIn most cases, this is the best healthcare illegal aliens have received in their entire lives.”

Despite Kristi Noem’s departure from DHS, the same policies persist. Our stance is clear: no child should face confinement, separation from their family, or threats to their health and safety. ICE seems to disagree.

Gutting of key US watchdog could pave way for grave immigration abuses, experts warn The federal watchdog system at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that oversees complaints about civil rights violations, including in immigration detention, has been gutted so thoroughly that ...

Before 2025, DHS's Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties investigated and guarded against abuses. Without CRCL, DHS is not just failing at its missionβ€”it’s openly flouting it.

At this turning point, Congress must ensure DHS fully restores CRCL and abides by its constitutional and moral duty.

Enron's retaliation against Watkins did not stop the company from being held accountable.

Because of her disclosure, Enron was investigated and Watkins testified before Congress.

Enron admitted it overstated its profits and became the largest corporate bankruptcy at the time.

Watkins eventually wrote a letter the CEO and questioned him about the company's accounting practices.

She warned that Enron "might implode in a wave of accounting scandals." By the time she went public with her disclosure, she was a target in an Enron smear campaign.

Enron whistleblower, Sherron Watkins, was the Vice President of Corporate Development at Enron.

Watkins realized that Enron was hiding financial losses and inflating the company's stock prices.

The company effectively decided their own profits and were never held accountable.
