Okay, I distinctly remember as a child learning that the plural of “roof” is “rooves” and not “roofs.” As a professional word wrangler nowadays, that is apparently not/no longer the case. Does anyone else remember the same, or did I hallucinate this weird little rule of the English language?

For those who don’t know, bookshop.org is an online bookstore that supports indie bookstores. They are a fantastic organization and the only place I buy books now, both e- and print.
