anyway when someone acts out and acts like a shitty person, no matter who it is, come back to this and figure out what combination of desires they're working out. it's an exercise I've been doing and it keeps working

people are easier to control nowadays because we've had what once served these desires economically and infrastructurally stripped away, then re-offered in a worse form, often one compensating for another

insane amounts of modern behavior that drives our politics and culture feels like it falls under these things even as much as people try to deny them. in fact a lot of these things exist in old long-gone happenings like free recreation, religious centers, and (unfortunately) public punishment

some deep-rooted shit I fully believe most people seek that I might get called conservative for believing in but that keeps getting affirmed:

-power and victory
-emotional movement through sensuality
-the macabre and grotesque
-idolatry
-gathering and/or mass ritual

I mean I don't think these people think about minoritized people at all, I think this is just a continued consequence of edgelord humor culture that started in the 90s/2000s and picked up speed
