Did Southwest Chief L.A. to Boston; I don't recommend after Chicago but L.A. to Chicago was great. My next goal will be the California Zephyr, definitely in the fall for foliage. I live in L.A. so I'm a regular on the Pacific Surfliner, and I'm partial to the route between Ventura & SLO.
