Gut inflammation promotes microbiota-specific CD4 T cell-mediated neuroinflammation - Nature Dysregulated CD4 T cells that recognize gut commensal antigens are able to infiltrate the central nervous systems and are re-stimulated by host proteins, resulting in neuroinflammation.
