It is absolutely insane that the US appears to have targeted desalination plants first – putting them onto the board. Iran seems to have already retaliated against one in Bahrain. This is one of the most obvious ways this could spiral.

Iran’s people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.

Humans can only survive about 3 days without water.

The tit-for-tat attacks on desalination plants and other water infrastructure in the Middle East are the scariest part of this war.

I think this deserves at least as much sustained attention from US media as Claudine Gay's dissertation

Our society isn't teaching people how to deal with terrible behaviors.

Verbal abuse? To this degree? Unacceptable.

Physical violence? That people watch without intervening? Would never be me.

If we don't learn how to stand up in our everyday lives, we'll never stand up to our other oppressors.

This is what the current US #government is doing to #damage #science and #medicine.

Trump has now explicitly affirmed the right to choose or veto leaders in Venezuela, Iraq, Iran, Honduras and Argentina, and implicitly Brazil and various European countries.

This is a direct violation of sovereignty and self-determination, which are bedrock foundations of any international order.

I’ve been asked if I would support Sen. Mullin as Noem’s replacement.

The answer is a resounding NO. The rot in DHS is deep, much deeper than any individual.

It’s a question of policy not personnel. The Senate should not consider any DHS Secretary nominee until DHS and ICE are reined in.
