Somewhere in an alternative universe orgs are posting reports with the title "Surprising insights that made us change our mind".

Not particularly. It's the same for many think tank, NGO and authority reports. It's (un)surprising how often the outcome of reports nicely aligns with the org's interests 😉 Not helped by the fact that the methodologies for these reports are often less than robust.

I recommend feeding this (and similar papers) into LLMs to check scientific robustness to check how "evidence-based" this really is: bsky.app/profile/step...

One of the best AI use cases for me is to perform a quick initial test of the scientific robustness of reports and surveys that authorities, think tanks and NGOs publish to determine if it's worth reading the document in more details.
