My Own Lab at Westlake University is OPEN! We are recruiting cool people at all levels NOW!
By tinkering behaviors and neural circuits in distinct animal species (mouse, sugar glider, etc), we are exploring new ways of doing social neuroscience in vivo, in silico and at home!

I had such an incredible time at @s4sn.bsky.social. I took a lot of pictures of Portugal but none at the conference, so here's a video of an otter at the aquarium.

Thanks so much to the organizers for putting together a great conference, and thanks to all the presenters!

There are incentives for people to commit misconduct, obviously, this doesn't address that. It wouldn't be considered misconduct if it was just negligence, so is the disincentive that if you're caught you'll have to pretend to pay attention to a course for 2 hours?

Granted, even ~1/3 of sleuths also 'agreed' to the option, so maybe I'm missing something, but it feels like it shouldn't even be an option to make a university feel like they did something when it's less than a slap on a wrist and acts like education could solve the problem.

There is a prompt of:
"Which of these practices should be options for institutions when serious research misconduct is confirmed"
One of the options was:
"Educational retraining for researchers who have committed misconduct"
Around 85% of Integrity Officers responded with 'agree' or 'strongly agree' while only around 33% of Sleuths.

I'm definitely no expert so I was ready to be educated by what research-integrity officers thoughts were, but the proportion of integrity officers that gave any credit to "educational retraining" is baffling.
