In VA, no more early voting. You must go to your polling location! Polls open 6am to 7pm. Make a plan. Go earlier rather than waiting until the end of the day!

I always wish I could do more, but it is a 40 min drive to get there: That area is more competitive than mine and easier to canvass. Always enjoy talking to people and helping them with voting!

Canvassed 35 doors today in Cave Spring, VA. Best door: one resident moved out and the lady moving in had recently moved there and votes Democratic! Helped her with her new voting location. Probably my last canvass for the election.

It was great being back in Norfolk to help get out the vote for @abigailspanberger.com for Governor.

Virginia โ€“ Abigail Spanberger cares about your freedoms, she will fight for your rights, and she will work every day to make your life a little bit better.

"It was great being back in Norfolk, Virginia today to support Abigail Spanberger for Governor.
Abigail Spanberger cares about your freedoms, she will fight for your rights, and she will work every day to make your life a little bit better.
She also knows how to get things done. As the mom of three kids in Virginia public schools, she cares about helping every child, and every teacher succeed. And as a Member of Congress, sheโ€™s stood up to politicians who are trying to increase costs and kick people off their healthcare.
Virginia, donโ€™t sit this election out. Make a plan to vote, and get your friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers to do the same. Because if we do, we will elect Abigail Spanberger as your next governor and put Virginia on the path to a brighter future." - Barack Obama

Virginia Democrats are rightfully celebrating that theyโ€™re challenging every inch of grass in the Commonwealth.

Itโ€™s a revelation, & something Dr. Fergie Reid Sr. has fought for since the 1950s โ€” when it wasnโ€™t as popular as it is today.

Virginia House Advances Democratic Plan to Counter GOP Gerrymandering Read more here.

BREAKING: In a 51-42 vote, the Virginia House advances a measure proposing a constitutional amendment that would allow the state to redraw its congressional map until 2030 โ€œin response to actions taken by another state.โ€

BREAKING: Democrats just tried to pass a standalone bill to fund WIC & SNAP to make sure families don't go hungry during the Republican shutdown.

Republicans BLOCKED it. So Trump won't use emergency funds to keep SNAP running, and Republicans won't let any bills pass. Shameful.

I ran into a lady at Aldi that said the same thing when I told her I was buying things for a food pantry for federal workers at our airport. I countered with ok, so an air traffic controller is supposed to work a stressful shift then uber. She paused then said theyโ€™ll get paid sometime.

We have an important election coming up Nov 4th. Not sure if heโ€™s saying that to sway voters or not. He usually follows Trumps direction. I think I read that the uSDA wonโ€™t be reimbursing states that do.

I do it camping or during power outage. My generator canโ€™t run the oven. A way to bake/ cook. We did it in our driveway. Fed some AT thru hikers chili at Shenandoah once.

I also got cast iron hook to turn the lid easier. And you need tongs to place charcoals.

You need this temp chart based on size of Dutch oven and temp you want. I got a chimney thing at Loweโ€™s to speed up preparing charcoals.

Chicken pot pie is good. Instead of bisquick I put frozen biscuits on top instead. You can do desserts in Dutch oven too.

I worry about my son and daughter in law and grandson. They have 0 pantry stock up. I bought my son a headlamp and it cam in handy during power outage. Also stocked him up on spices.

I took a class several years ago at REI with outdoor cast iron cooking. If I get a second one I can do chili in one and bake cornbread in the other. Chicken pot pie is super yummy too. You put charcoal underneath and charcoal on top to get certain temperatures. It tasted great during the outage.

I read a couple of Ukrainian memoirs, and people didnโ€™t wrap their head about Russia invading until it did happen.

I need to get that solar powered battery soon. We have partial gas powered generator to run fridge and lights. Trying to think of backups. Just bought another camp stove with propane. May buy another cast iron pot with feet. Comes in handy as an oven. Last outage I baked cornbread over charcoal.

I know but dealing with climate change, ICE, and external threats too. The Depression i could kind of get a handle on, but worrying about our own govt coming after us. Russia annexing us would be very BAD.

I remember when the grid went down during Hurricane Isabel for awhile and store shelves quickly emptied. That was only a week or two dealing with the aftermath. Iโ€™m not prepared for multi year hardship or war.

I think we could get attacked/invaded. Just having a Great Depression is the best case scenario.
