In VA 2025 election, I voted for Dem attorney general, even though my preferred candidate didn’t win the primary. It was close in the general and the Dem won. He just recently moved to put VA back into RGGI (Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative), which helps combat climate change, which I wanted.

And any special election.

My county (Bedford) in Virginia in 2025 primary turnout was 3%.

That opportunity is the primary.

When I canvassed in the 2024 election in Virginia, I did come upon some doors that supported local Dems, but leaned away from supporting Kamala. One man I was sure it was misogyny, but another disabled woman was influenced by Fox News talking points.

I had to hound one neighbor to vote in the primary. I ended up bribing my husband with a coffee date after voting. Getting people to the polls is exhausting. There were so many people running for Lt. governor and my friends were overwhelmed and finally asked who I was voting for and they did that.

It will be on a special Referendum that is scheduled in April.

We just swept all 3 top state positions in 2025, large majorities in the House of delegates and just inaugurated Abigail Spanberger, the first woman governor of Virginia!

I’ve been protesting and volunteering on campaigns since 2017. I knocked doors for Abigail Spanberger every time she ran. Just recently she was inaugurated Governor of Virginia. In the last election, I also knocked doors for a school board candidate, over 400, and he won by 74 votes.

I was 6 years old. Didn’t understand what was going on. I did ask my parents why Saturday morning cartoons weren’t on.

I was in graduate school and seeing it in the computer science dept. office.

I’ll put this on my list. I’ve read the sisterhood of Ravensbruck, and am reading another Holocaust book now about the orchestra at Auschwitz.
