Gave a copy to the man himself. Told him there's a Spanish edition on the way. He said, "It's OK, this will improve my English." Wearing my fave HST tee 😎😎

And I was a fan before then, from the long, hot summer of 1976, when I got my first motorcycle. Still remember reading MCN when Sheene won his first MotoGP title that July. I thought, 'This is so cool!' I still do 😎😎😎

Here comes MotoGP's longest, weirdest season How MotoGP’s volatile rider market will play havoc with riders and manufacturers working to develop their all-new 850s for 2027

Get ready for a bumpy ride.... 2026 will see the longest #MotoGP campaign in history; the death of one era; the genesis of another; and the most volatile rider market in world championship history.
So it's lucky that @matoxley.bsky.social is once more your guide

New Oxley Bom #MotoGP pod: MotoGP goes city racing! Liberty divide fans into 2 types - purists & tourists - so which are you? Because Adelaide's for the tourists. Plus, Bez fastest in tests, MM93 crashes thrice. What does that mean for the Thai GP opener? oxleybom.buzzsprout.com/2181509/epis...

Final times from final tests. Bezzecchi & Ogura went top this arvo. MM93, dodgy tummy & third crash. My bet is 2026 will be 2025 redux: MM93 strongest, Bez & AM73 winners on their day, KTM & Honda chasing. Main difference will be Bagnaia faster with a friendlier engine, Yamaha nowhere, for now

Great to be back on Revzilla's Highside/Lowside podcast, this time to discuss Marc MΓ‘rquez & my biography of the man. We go pretty deep into what I learned talking to Marc's rivals & engineers, & how my opinion of him changed as a result

End of day 1 of the final 2-day Buriram #MotoGP test. Ducati still in control. MM93 2nd after 2 minor falls today. Aprilia once again as fast as Ducati. Honda take another step forward. Yamaha still way off the pace

MotoGP in Adelaide city confirmed for 2027, conforming to Liberty’s concept of city festival races. The 2.6 mile circuit will be based on the layout used for F1 1985-1995. Obvs the circuit will have to meet modern safety standards, so it's more likely to be slow and a bit boring than super-dangerous

MotoGP at an F1 street circuit? Are they INSANE? Not exactly, they just want to make money. Make no mistake about it, MotoGP moving from Phillip Island to an Adelaide city park is the starting gun of the Liberty/MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group era www.motorsportmagazine.com/articles/mot...

🚨🚨 Dorna is no more! The company that bought MotoGP in 1992 has been renamed #MotoGP Sport Entertainment. President is Liberty's Chase Carey, ex CEO of F1. Vice-president is Liberty's Marty Patterson. CEO remains Carmelo Ezpeleta. Inevitable shift from Spanish to US management

Beaut Sepang #MotoGP testing shot from Tech3 😍 In the hazy distance you can see the KLIA airport control tower. Most paddock people stay at airport hotels and never get any further away from the airport than the track. That's the reality of MotoGP travel 😎😎✊✊

Revolution is in the air! #MotoGP 2026 is going to echo the summer of 2001 when the manufacturers fought each other on two fronts, racing their last 500s while simultaneously developing their 2002 replacements, most famously Honda’s sublime RC211V www.motorsportmagazine.com/articles/mot...

MotoGP revolution is in the air and why 2026 will be 2001 all over again The coming MotoGP season will echo the summer of 2001 when the manufacturers fought each other on two fronts β€” racing their last 500s while simultaneously developing their revolutionary 2002 replacements, most famously Honda’s sublime RC211V

2026 will be the most expensive season in #MotoGP history as manufacturers battle for the title and develop a new-gen of revolutionary 850cc bikes.
It'll be 2001 all over again, says @matoxley.bsky.social

New Oxley Bom #MotoGP podcast! What do the Sepang tests tell us about what's going to happen when 2026 kicks off in 3 weeks?! Looks like Ducati are 0.5s ahead of Aprilia, Honda & KTM. Then Yamaha... And will the GP24 engine help Bagnaia or MM93 more? oxleybom.buzzsprout.com/2181509/epis...

Ha. Indeed - GP24 on the 2024 rear tyre was 😍 also they should be faster in October than in February πŸ˜€ and the track needs resurfacing - they're starting in the next weeks 😎 But you're right - the improvements are incremental now

Philip Morris (Marlboro, Chesterfield etc) never left motorcycle racing - they still fund the X2 2-seater in MotoGP - and now they're the new title sponsors of BSB, with their ZYB nicotine pouches 🌬️🌬️🌬️

Once again Ducati shows MotoGP who is boss Aprilia, Honda and KTM have made steps into 2026, but it was Ducati that put all five of its riders inside the top six at the first pre-season tests

Lots of winter talk about Aprilia, Honda & KTM catching Ducati in 2026 but the Sepang tests suggest Ducati may be just as dominant, with all 5 riders in the top 6 & AM73, Bagnaia & MM93 riding lightning-fast simulations. All using 2024 engines no doubt www.motorsportmagazine.com/articles/mot...

Boom! End of stage one of the #2026 MotoGP season, the last of the max aero & shapeshifter era. Bezzecchi slots in Aprilia's first 56 to split the Ducati hordes. Honda & KTM both 0.8s off AM73, who also topped last year's tests, with a 56.493. Yamaha back on track today but slow as hell

Yes, lots and lots of advantages, also the overall dynamics of a V4 bike - keeps the rear on the road better during braking

Rain stopped play early on day 2 at Sepang. Honda ahead, with Joan Mir into the 56s. Meanwhile disaster for Yamaha, who have withdrawn all their bikes while they investigate a tech problem, presumably engine or gearbox. Will they get it figured out for tomorrow's final day?

And there you have it: Day 1 of 2026 done and guess who's at the top? MM93 hasn't ridden a #MotoGP bike since October but anyway... Today may not mean much but I think this was a bit of a statement, just in case anyone thought they might have a chance 😎✊

HUGE sighs of relief from Yamaha! Jack Miller and the V4 M1 topped today's Sepang shakedown with a 1m 57.9. Pole last year was 1m 57.0, best race lap was 1m 58.9. This doesn't mean the new M1 is a winner yet but it suggests it's a much better bike than during its three 2025 races

Blimey, Jorge Martin - and Aprilia - can't catch a break. Confirmation that Martin will miss the Sepang tests (3-5 February), following further surgeries to his left scaphoid (fractured in a supermoto crash last February) and right collarbone (broken at Motegi last September)
