#GameDev peeps, I'd like to learn a game engine. I have a concept that would be specifically 2D. I figure it'd probably be Godot or GMS. Are there any templates or tutorials, etc. that you would specifically recommend for a newbie to learn with?

Funniest move that has ever existed in a fighting game. Polarizing design that instantly warps the gamestate. Creates every single possible aspect of bad game feel for the other player. A sadistic attack that would break most games.

the lone hero with no party, just EX skills. the summoner puppet character with an MP meter instead of cooldowns. the boss that can sacrifice his party for an install state. get real doofy with it. iunno.

would a non-tag tag fighter be worth exploring? somewhere between strikers & Sengoku Basara X's assists? basically rpg party leaders with assists baked into their kits. a second set of specials tied to cooldown or something.

ooooh and the counterpart "second phase" bosses with install systems. hm.

and dear lord, more grunt variety. at least some head swaps or something. pulling animations from KoFXV to save time was a brilliant idea.

it had the BONES of a good mode, but overall feels like an afterthought. like they started to make something good and got two-piece combo'd by time and budget. it was never gonna be SF6's WT or a big NRS cinematic story. just wish it were more.

pondering ways to expand EoST from City of the Wolves into a complete experience, i stumbled into a great setup

earliest attempts at pixels involved mspaint and snes9x. Super Butoden 2 sprite edits of filtered screenshots with zero knowledge of color limits or palette utilization. animagic for gifs. Dreamcast emulation was a myth. Egoraptor posted his Megaman sprites on a forum. MvC3 fakeshots.

getting an animation feeling pretty good, fine-tuning for multiple sessions, then comparing to the rest of the set and realizing the proportions are BORKED and having to redo it. my favorite!

accidentally creating preexisting characters by conceptualizing with the "so-and-so, but such-and-such" method. brainstorming a villain that's 1000% Juri in terms of personality, but uncontrollable time slips? seems irredeemable but actually kinda tragic? congrats on creating I-No.
