It's a neat argument because he's not leaning at all on the quality of the homily's prose or the creativity required to write it, but the intersubjective exchange it consummates.

Proposed cuts to libraries, parks, CUNY, housing + health, while keeping NYPD + Corrections intact; proposed real property tax increases disproportionately affecting Black owners + most tenants; homeless encampment sweeps.

Why is Z proposing these regressive measures, and how best can we respond? 🧡

A young violinist was nervous about meeting with Jeffrey Epstein due to his 2008 child sex abuse conviction. Epstein reassured her by noting his friendship with @bardcollege.bsky.social’s Leon Botstein, and set up a dinner between Botstein and the musician. She soon became one of Epstein’s victims.

thread. related, my impression is a lot of higher ed administrators are significantly oriented toward making a mark on an institution in the short term so they have a claimable on their CV to get their next admin job elsewhere. that incentivizes vandalizing institutions, whether by AI or otherwise

NEWS: Democrat Chasity Martinez has won the Louisiana HD-60 special election, defeating Republican Brad Daigle and holding the seat.

Martinez won 63%–37%. Trump carried the district by 13 points in 2024.

Another major Democratic overperformance.

Early returns in Louisiana’s special election:

The Dem candidate is leading 58.5% to 41.5%. That’s with a third of the vote in.

Context: this is a Dem-held seat but in a district TRUMP carried by 13%, so has been a big/obvious GOP target. Stay tuned.
