I want to function as their biggest cheerleader and sounding board as well as a reliable and fair critic they can turn to. I feel like a lot of my roster member past and present have been this way which I’m grateful for. 6/?

I personally make it known to my teammates that I’m not just captain but also a supporter of them, not just as a player but as a person like making sure they know my DMs are always open and I’m willing to work out situations with them without them feeling like they need to put up a front with me 5/?

because I never want anyone on my team or anyone in my circle to feel like they’re uncomfortable or unsafe. We’re all just a people on your screen and we shouldn’t be causing real distress. Silence can hurt people more that being genuine about your feeling while still be respectful of course. 4/?

I believe that if you don’t care for the people on your team then what’s the point of playing with them. I’d whether let my teammates vent out their frustrations then bottle them in before lashing out in anger or in tears to leave everyone else in shock. 3/?

Like I don’t expect to be treated better over my team simply due to the fact that I’m the captain of the team, because at the end of the day I’m still just a guy. Having good communication and just having that emotional openness in a team is something I feel like it can make or break a team. 2/?

Creating a healthy and safe team environment has and will always be my main priority as a captain, yes my team have banter and bits of “hating” on each other but it’s important to me that we function on the same level of maturity, human decency and respect. A THREAD 🧵1/?

now that I’ve played this game long enough that I’m not always thinking the worse, the swap was 100% easier.
Before I get comments like “duH mOtIon iS the bEttER wAy tO pLaY spLatOoN”, fork found in kitchen and shocker, the sky is blue. It doesn’t really feel that much of difference to me. 3/?

yes I did get pushed into playing motion by previous groups and people during my time playing with very little success, now that I’ve sat down and thought about it, it was due to the fact that back then I wasn’t as good of a player nor a confident one. 2/?

I feel like the time and effort I’ve already put into my playstyle and honing into my strengths as a player. If I was new to comp I’d definitely struggle more just because my medical issues and my preferred learning style. 1/?

Honestly, getting into motion late into competitive play I feel is the most beneficial thing I could’ve done for myself. I’ve played long enough that just two days on motion isn’t very daunting compared to when I’d try to play it earlier in my career.

My brain and body giving me a panic attack the moment I get on the game

Just had a quiet hand holding session with a guy after we both had long shifts, yeah that was pretty rad :)

I don’t have a clothing aesthetic in real life, it just put on whatever the fuck I have in my closet. I don’t care if it’s a Facebook mom shirt set or a cat onesie.
