Old style bike rack that is actually pretty decent, for some reason raised a few inches on wooden blocks, in the nook of the West End Cultural Centre
Wpg Bike Rack #079: West End Cultural Centre.
Let's get the year started with a so-so bike rack from a wonderful venue.
Why is it up on little blocks? If we're talking thematically then I'd reckon they're like little stage risers... I really do like the little nook though.

Wpg Bike Rack 082: Lucky Supermarket, McPhillips.
I'm guessing that this is just the old cart-return receptacle, but I'm actually impressed: it's solid, with a truly secure section on the end.
Also, it is very orange, if that's your thing.

A wavy bike rack placed right next to the wall of a Salisbury House
Wpg Bike Rack 083: Salisbury House, Parkdale and Portage.

This is so close to the wall, I say, JUST PUT IT ON THE WALL.
You know, horizontal like...

One of those street sign poles, with a rusty bolt on it at the bottom.
Wpg Bike Rack 084: Winnipeg Clinic
These poles are scary in two ways: often there is a bolt at the base that can be loosened to remove the pole - and then sometimes there is a really tall guy around who could just lift your bike over the top.
Luckily, both are easy to spot.

There is a very tiny bicycle rack that I guess you could stick the very front of your tire into. This user parked against it sideways, which actually makes sense.
Wpg Bike Rack 085: Thom Bargen, Tuxedo.
Fun fact: this is a traditional unicycle rack, and not within the purview of this account.
@WpgUniRacks operated for 6 years before being shuttered for a lack of content. Things could have been different...

Wpg Bike Rack 086: Assiniboine Forest.
We've been trying to see more of the city lately, so we cycled to the forest for a little hike.
No bike racks tho, unless you count these things, which I do.
I have to, it's like the whole point of this account.

One of those bike racks with the space for you to put your tire through, but put too close to the wall to be useful for more than two bicycles.
Wpg Bike Rack 087: Sketchers, Polo Park.
A very long rack for only two bicycles. You could use this as an over-top lock, were it another couple feet from the wall.
There is so much room for it too!

Hitch your bike on one of these white thingers on the far side of the property.
Whatever, sure, why not?

Hello BlueSky! I am starting up the channel over here, beginning with a celebration thread of all 90 salvageable entries from the original Twitter account, running backwards. This will take some time and some posts have been lost. Racks!

Three bicycles locked to a rack that is all but invisible, giving the impression that they are held up by one "stabil cykle," a Danish term for a bike which remains supremely upright.
Wpg Rack 090: Lombard at Main.
It's difficult to tell, but there may not be a bike rack here at all.
Perhaps one of these bicycles is supremely upright, a "stabil cykle" as the Danes call them.
Comforting. But if the stabil cykle were to disappear, what then?

Wpg Bike Rack 091 - Main at Bannatyne
I was out. No more posting, just happiness, locking my bike to whatever I could find -
and then I see 2 Wpg rack posts in one day.
Given Brent's credentials I am surprised he hadn't heard of my publicly-funded art project, "Racks in Reflection."
