Before New Year, I ditched the Apple Watch after 10 years, and gone back to wearing actual watches again which I absolutely love. Also turned off all but essential phone notifications. Feel freer already! 👍👌

Nah, I just put my original cart in the pic for the sake of comparison. The real carts sadly don’t fit in the back of the Lego GB - It’s a smidge too narrow. You can buy kits that can convert it to play real carts though!

I think the On/Off switch is my favourite touch; how it clicks feels so authentic! 👌

Go to newsagent with your mum or dad, look over the £2.99 games on cassette whilst they pick a newspaper. Take your pocket money that's saved from 50p a week, buy a game for your Amstrad CPC6128 with cassette player connected via audio cables, get home and load it up whilst eating a Twix bar. Bliss

was AMAZING (but no textures, 30fps), to Ridge Racer with texture mapping, 60fps display, it was remarkable. That's my thoughts though as someone who adores RR greatly in all forms and almost all games.

At the time though, in 1993, RR was truly revolutionary in the arcades. It moved EVERYTHING on significantly at one time; 3D performance, textures, lighting, track design, analogue controls, AI, music, feel. Everything. We went from games like Drivers Eyes, which was fine, and Virtua Racing, which

handling, entering drift, regaining traction and so forth. It's hard to play now, feels harder than ever after the years of progression and evolution in the RR handling model. However, playing the RR1 arcade port on Arcade Archives on PS5, Switch 2, is a true delight and much more playable.

It looked better, had further draw distance, and smoother framerate than Daytona, but it was the SEGA game that felt closer in terms of handling on the digital inputs of either d-pad. I think RR1 is really tough to go back to now on PS1, even as a super fan. It's very aggressively snappy in terms of

Hey! I think the thing to ask is are you playing the PlayStation port? This was such an interesting game at the time because it gave you the arcade experience in the home.. Sort of. I loved this game on PS1, I played an absolute load of it there, and arcade, and more recently...

Yeah that’s pretty much it, A and B choice. One had higher speed when using ‘Jets’ (boost). The other falls off corners easier 😅

Yeah I can P2 ok, on a good run like you say. I forgot Podium finish isn’t enough, only victory! 😂😂
