My 7yo told me she NEEDED sticky notes. I didn’t ask questions and bought her some. Most of these are from when she was supposed to be sleeping 😆💕

The walk to the marathon starting line with my daughter. She knew I was nervous and was whispering her best advice to me, which I took. She was very patient over many months of training where I wasn’t as fun sometimes because I was out running for hours on a Saturday, or tired from all the running…

We talked about how they didn’t allow women to run marathons for a long time, and I showed her the picture of Kathrine Switzer. I hope my daughter remembers seeing her mom run in a marathon and knows that she can do anything

I owe her a lot of roller skating now. In the weeks leading up to the marathon, she kept asking if we could go but I was afraid I might fall and injure myself and I wasn’t going to let roller skating take me out. So I can’t wait to take her now (once I can properly walk again 😆) ⁣

I ran a marathon. 26.2 miles. 💪 I felt strong, never hit the wall, and enjoyed the whole experience. My plan was to stay conservative with my pace, steady, and nail the last tough 6 mile. I did it. Finished in 4:28:36. Happy with it and also know there’s room to improve. I’m so happy. And so so sore

Haha yep, the official pace was 10:16! My sister said, “That’s my time for a single mile.” 😆 I have a friend who did a marathon with an 8:30 pace though, which blows my mind, so I guess it’s all relative. 🙈 Thank you!

My daughter made a friend in kindergarten. I asked what his name was and she said “The Flying Toe” and then refused to elaborate

I'm pretty sure I'm not even going to AWP next year, so explain to me why I had an AWP nightmare last night??? And now I see ppl posting their panel acceptances/rejections!

two days ago I told a group of ppl about how a bug flew into my eye when I was a kid & the following night I was with the same ppl and a bug…flew into my eye.

A great week at the Oregon coast, full of adventure. Now I start a three-month contract as a managing editor and attempt to balance that with freelancing and my own writing (plus, you know, being a mom, etc) Here we go!
